CE 2.1 Project Information
Name of the project: 415 V Transportable Pump Starter Build, PS 01
Location of the project: Central Queensland University, Australia
Project Duration: March 6, 2017, until June 2, 2017
Organization: Central Queensland University
Role and Designation during the time: Electrical Engineer
CE 2.2 Project Background
CE 2.2.1 Characteristics of the project
CQU Coal is one of the fictional open-cutting coal-mine, which is being performed by
the Central Queensland University of Australia. Hypothetically, this specific open-cutting
coalmine is being located in Australia. During my educational second semester, I eventually
got a distinctive scope for planning a moveable pump-starter. The major purpose of this
particular pump-starter execution was driving the pontoon-pump, which was being deployed
within the Central Queensland University Coal-Surface Operation. I have even done the work
in only 3 months after the involvement of my two team members. All of these pump-starters
were the major needs of the pumping-installations, which function within 415 V. As a
specific pontoon-pump was required being driven for this CQU Coal Surface Operation,
eventually, I gave extra responsiveness towards the respective design of the pump-starter. For
the simulation of software, I even had utilized the software of LVSIM or LabVolt. The
computer-assisted 0.2kW electro mechanical training systems were used in the project with
8006-1 model. The power-circuit training systems of DC, as well as AC, were being

considered here. Hence, in this particular project, I had proposed the most compact and
complete design for the pump-starter effectively and efficiently.
CE 2.2.2 Objectives developed for the project
The development of this pump-starter should have been done after following few
kinds of Australian as well as New Zealand standard such as electric equipment for the mine,
electrical installations, quarries and many others. I also had to ensure some security
precautions regarding project work completion. Hence, to complete this project work and
then producing significant power with the help of the design of an efficient pump starter to
the CQU Coal Surface Operations, few objectives were developed by me:
To provide a complete as well as compact design to a pump starter, which can be
easily driven by the CQU Coal Surface Operations in CQU.
To improve and eliminate the intrinsic shortcomings of this designed machine of
pump starter to provide better efficacy.
To utilize Lab Volt or LVSIM software to simulate and thus to improve each and
every operation of CQU Coal.
To use a few significant methodologies for estimating or calculating the efficiency of
power and limit of effectiveness provided to this specific organization of CQU.
To organize the entire experimental setup to complete this particular project work.
To contrast and compare these experimental outcomes with my theoretical outcomes.
CE 2.2.3 My area of work
I was engaged as the chief electrical-engineer within this project. I have experiences
within the electrical field for my past inclusion in some of the project works and hence in this
project I comprised of the major duty to propose a compact design to this pump starter in the
CQU Coal Surface Operation. As an electrical engineer by profession, it was quite easy for

me of proposing the compact designing for the pump starter and thus I was successful to
execute my responsibilities efficiently. Furthermore, as I have provided the project design, I
had the responsibility for helping out other team members for their proper performance as
well as work outcomes. Since I had skills like critical thinking power and logical reasoning,
my supervisor kept confidence up on me to execute this project.

CE 2.2.5 My responsibilities throughout the project
During this project called 415 V Transportable Pump-Starter Build, PS 01, I was
being given to propose a detailed and compact design of a specific pump-starter to help out
the CQU Coal-Surface Operation. The major and noteworthy characteristics of the machine
of pump starter included wide-band encapsulation plug-in coils, high efficiency as well as
effectiveness magnetic and even can be mounted in all directions. The average temperature
range for this particular pump starter machine was within 50C until 550C. I maintained the
core characteristic of unique mechanical-interlocking in the pump starter for making this
