1. Introduction
The paper mainly reflects on Cloud ERP which is one of the types of enterprise resource
planning software that is mainly hosted on the cloud platform rather focussing on premises
within the enterprises own data centre. The main focus of the paper is to critically analyzes the
challenges that occurs while adopting Cloud ERP system by successfully reviewing a number of
journal articles. It is found that while adopting cloud ERP, an organization needs to take care
about a variety of issues and challenges and therefore the report focuses on such challenges such
that the problems can be resolved effectively.
2. Literature review
According to Gupta et al. (2017) cloud ERP systems are becoming very much common
within different manufacturing industries and therefore the system of cloud ERP uses a web
browser or service for successfully communicating data from point to production to point of
workers. This is considered to be very much different from on premise ERP system with the
proper ability of configuring, updating as well as remotely installation on the on-site central
installation. It is stated by Elmonem, Nasr and Geith (2016) that as updates are faster, some more
features are required to be implemented after every update thus it helps in increasing the
functionality of ERP system. Moreover, as the Cloud ERP are very much web-oriented and
therefore both integration as well as data accuracy get improved successfully (Singh and Misra
2019). In addition to this, investment within the hardware as well as slower update are mainly
needed within the cloud-based system that further uses the web as updates are implemented
successfully with the help of human interaction.
