Covid-19 pandemic is a major viral infection and communicable disease which originated
from china and affected whole world in a very short period of time. The Covid-19 pandemic has
affected whole world’s economy and created major challenge for domestic and international
companies to survive (Chapman, 2021). It is hard for major companies to survive at the
marketplace due to the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. In the era of stiff competition between
domestic and international companies it is essential for an organisation to deal with several
consequences that are created by the pandemic. Companies in global market are putting extra
efforts for survival and increase business growth in a precise manner. In this report example of
Hilton hotel is taken into consideration for better understanding the effect of Covid-19 on
business. Hilton hotel is a multinational chain of hotels which was established in the year 1919
and is headquartered in United States.

The business organisations which are functioning in domestic and global market are facing
reduction in profitability and productivity due to the pandemic. There are several issues faced by
many business organisations which directly impact on performance of the business (Filimonau,
2021). In United Kingdom when government imposed there were many companies which faced
temporary shutdown. It is compulsory for a business organisation to follow different rules and
regulations formulated by government to conduct ethical business. Hilton hotel has also faced
huge economic loss and a major decline in online transactions due to spread of pandemic. Many
employees of the company that is also known as human capital mainly faced employment issues.
The company has majorly faced several issues which are negative in nature and directly
impacting on functioning of Hilton hotel at the marketplace. Inventory and stock which is stored
by business entity also became obsolete due to fewer sales (Ertac, 2021). Due to Covid-19
pandemic demand in global and domestic market declined which directly affected on sales and
revenue of the company. In the lockdown period goods remain unsold which directly affected on
marketing department and its aspects in a precise manner. The turnover of major companies also
declined with a large proportion due to impact caused by Covid-19 pandemic. The whole world
is facing recession in the economy which is a negative aspect in business world to develop and
gain growth at the marketplace.
