Racism 2Challenges of Responding to RacismThere are several challenges faced by individuals when responding to racism effectively thereby limiting the process of combating racism. First, we consider institutional barriers and challenges. These barriers are used to impede good intentions and other affirmative policies intended to respond effectively to racism (Ryan & Deci, 2017). According to anti-discriminatory legislation Act, it is a requirement for countries to initiate policies that would be applied to respond to cases of racism. In that connection, therefore, it has become a challenge to implement the various policies set to combat racism by different states. (Harrison, 2017). Lastly, a problem that limits effective response to racism is based on lack of proper coordination of various stakeholders involved in initiating programs to combat racism. On the other hand, we consider strategies used to respond to racism by different stakeholders. There are strategies with a positive response while other with an adverse reaction. In positive response, every stakeholder would do all it takes in making efforts to limit the heightsof racism (Sowell, 2018). This strategy involves campaigning on equality of human races despitethe difference in skin colour. The outcome of this strategy results in the positive appreciation of human race (Reece & Walker, 2007). On the other hand, cynical strategy to respond to racism involves human discrimination through the difference in skin colour. This has a direct effect of increasing human hostility which in turn results into criticism.
