As a quality manager, the author identifies gaps in the project management plan, including the project's life cycle and process groups, necessitating a change management strategy. The report outlines four key change requirements: addressing technological faults to ensure data accuracy, adhering to Australian quality system standards for device manufacturing, establishing a well-organized distribution channel, and developing a rigorous, cost-effective marketing strategy. These changes aim to enhance the guide's market popularity and ensure its successful implementation within a six-month timeframe, emphasizing the importance of clear roles, responsibilities, and communication among stakeholders. CHANGE REQUIREMENT POSTING ACTIVITY
Introduction:
The Nightingale project refers to the development of the handheld electronic medical
reference guide that would be designed for the paramedics and the emergency medical
technicians who would require a fast reference guide for the emergency situations. As a
quality manager of the project, I had found out few gaps in the project after critically
analyzing the requirement of the project management plan. The life cycle of the project and
the process groups require some changes as well. Each of the organization requires
developing a change management strategy for every project. This report will discuss the
required change management policies for the handheld electronic medical reference guide.
Discussion:
There are few basic changes that are required for the handheld electronic medical
reference guide. This is a technical guide that is mostly created for emergency situation.
Therefore, it is our responsibility to keep up its accuracy and ensure that it does not provide
any kind of wrong data. Furthermore the identified change requirements of this project are
listed below:
Firstly, the technological requirements are very much necessary for this project.
However, the project managers have found out there are still some technological
faults in the guide which may lead to wrong data and further adverse situations.
Therefore the managers immediately require appointing more technologists who can
take care of the situation and bring further changes to the technological parts.
Secondly, the manufactures of the device should also follow the quality systems of the
Australian quality system, so that the products meet all the specifications and
requirements. There are times, while the quality assurance of the product may miss

some regulations, however, the project should ensure that the quality of the products
are assured before the product launches in the market.
Thirdly, the distribution channel of the handheld electronic medical reference guide
should be well organized. This project is associated with a new and innovative
product which requires a huge expansion of the distribution channel. However, there
is no such concrete plan for the distribution till now. The project heads have only
planned it to send to the hospitals, however, the device can be sent to other medical
institutions so that the device gets popularized as soon as it enters the market.
Fourthly, the project also requires a rigorous marketing strategy within limited costs.
Marketing strategy is very much important for the new product. It should also be
mentioned that for marketing strategies the project may need a huge amount of money
if they want to use all the possible media channels such as online media, print media,
digital media etc. Till now, there is no such marketing strategic plan for the project.
Therefore the project needs to implement a well-organized marketing plan for the
project.
Conclusion:
These changes are very much necessary to make the handheld electronic medical
reference guide popular in the market. The goals have been fixed keeping all the possible
major components in mind. The changes should be made within 6 months so that the
resources and related stakeholders do not get deviated from the project. It is also necessary
that the roles and responsibilities of the managers are well distributed so that there are no
such issues amongst the management. There should also be proper communications so that
the stakeholders get the information and the device at right time.
