Document evidence to demonstrate some organisation of qualitative data
Project idea is based on the artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) and virtual
reality (VR). Cosmetic retail industry is chosen for the innovation. Business problem is such that
it is becoming difficult for the cosmetic companies to sell their products and services in an online
manner. The reason being is that without any physical touch and applying the products on the
body, customers don't prefer to buy online (FUESSEL, 2020). Therefore, in order to scale up the
online retail business in cosmetic companies, it is important to innovate and create something
due to which customers can choose online purchasing at their doorstep without visiting any
physical stores. Hence, AI, AR and VR technology can help to develop the application of virtual
make up rooms through which the customers can select any type of cosmetic and apply on body
in a virtual manner so that they can analyse the suitability on customers or not. This can solve the
business problem of online purchasing in cosmetic retail industry (Knechtel, 2020). Sephora is a
cosmetic retail company which is headquartered in France uses the technology of virtual make
up rooms.

How you intend to use this opportunity to develop new skills?
Opportunity of learning about the emerging technology such as artificial intelligence and
augmented reality along with the virtual reality has helped me developing new skills and
improving the existing skills as well. I have improved my existing skills research capabilities and
problem solving behaviour. This will not only help me in my academic career but also in my
professional life as well. I have developed new skills such as written good quality content after
investigating about the research topic which improves my written communication skills. It has
helped me that how can I convert raw data into relevant information so that the research
undertaken can be successfully accomplished. Moreover, I have also gained the cognitive and
analytical skills along with the time management skills as well.
How your project/new skills could have a positive impact on and contribute to society?
I have developed new skills has the positive impact on the contribution to the society.
Such as it has not only personally benefited me but also has benefited the society. This is because
I can use such skills in researching about several other topics within the area of emerging
technology. This can benefit society in the advancement of technology because technology eases
the work and helps the people in speedy working with full comfort. People do not have to visit to
the physical cosmetic stores, they just need to visit the sites from their mobile phones and follow
the steps for purchase and payment. Customers can easily apply make up virtually to identify
what suits them without visiting the stores. This is how the project has the positive impact on the
society.
Main risks/challenges you could face over the course of the project and what you can do to
reduce/remove them
Challenges I have faced over the course of the project are such that, I found difficulty in
collecting the data either it is qualitative or quantitative and either it is primary or secondary. The
reason being is that the concept chosen for the project is completely new and rare companies
have adopted this innovation. That is why authentic data collection was time consuming. I can
