A deep understanding of your characters is crucial for successful costume design. Therefore, this first project becomes the corner stone of your Design Bible. Since you will have to design costumes for: Sir Thomas More; Richard Rich; Alice More; Margaret More; and, Thomas Cromwell. you need to analyze these five (5) characters by reading the play and making notes as you go. As part of your Character Analysis, you have to list the following items for each of the characters: Name (and names given to them by other characters); Gender; Age; Status (Class); Profession; Origins (Family / Country if foreign); Personality (3-6 adjectives do the job); Purpose / Super objective / Main wish/want; 1-3 quotes (by them or others) that summarize them; and, Two hundred (200) words PER CHARACTER that explain how these items inform the way the characters dress (color, silhouette, structure, fit, texture, coverage, neatness, wear, etc.).
