TASK 1 – Recruitment, induction and leading the team
You are required to think about what your role as a diploma qualified educator
might be for recruiting and inducting educators into the service. You are
required to use the service policies, procedures and checklists to guide you in
this.
You will need to ensure you:
Seek the support and advice of your workplace supervisor
Access service policies, procedures and documents
Maintain confidentially and professionalism at all times
Part A Recruitment process
With the help of your workplace supervisor, access the following documents:
Recruitment policy and procedure/s
Induction policy and procedure/s
Any additional service documents (checklists etc) that are used
when new educators commence in the service
1. Briefly describe the recruitment and induction processes for new educators in
the service:
a) Recruitment process:
This the process in which there is need to ensure about the need for staff member to
process the produce in effective way. There is need to identify the position within
organization. There is also need for the requirement for any post that are vacant for
getting better and effective response towards the need for employees. Here,
requirement process may include the identification of post which should be fulfil and
then identify the deserving individual through taking interviews and knowing about
their abilities and skills. This may have followed by talent search, preparing for job
description and many more.
b) Induction process:
Induction process refers to the receiving and welcoming employees when they join the
company. This is the one in which there is need to provide better and effective
response towards the sharing of basis information about company and their job profile
within organization. This also includes the introduction to all the individual which they

should know to perform their work within workplace. Induction refers as the induction
with planned introduction of new recruits within organization, their colleagues and job.
This also includes some procedure which are meeting collegues, tour of workplace,
health and safety, getting all the necessary documents, understanding their role,
identify the needed training and many more.

2. What are 2 things you need to remember to ensure confidentiality during the
recruitment process? List these below:
i. Not to share the personal information with other during recruitment
process.
ii. Salary or basic pay should maintain confidentiality to maintain staff dignity
and their respect within organization.
3. How does the service recruit for new educators? This can include both internal
and external methods. Discuss with your workplace supervisor.
List at least 2 recruitment methods:
Service need to get ensure about the requirement for the new educator. In this, there is need to
ensure about the effective method which may include both internal and external methods.

ii. External recruitment
4. What are 2 things you can do to ensure new staff or students have a positive
induction experience in the service? To help with your response, think
back to when you were new to the service. What helped you? What
made things harder for you that you wouldn’t want others to
experience?
i. There is need to ensure about the behavior of every individual towards the
new staff. This can help to make them comfortable and help in effectively
ask what they like to know related with their work or workplace.
ii. There is also need to ensure about that new staff should not be
discriminated and are included in various activity which can enable them
to be comfortable and help in getting better experience about their
induction. This can be helpful and enable every individual to be comfortable.
Inclusion is effective during the induction which can motivate new staff to get
confidence about their existence within organization.
