Question 1.1 Discuss a ‘strength based approach’ when helping a client.
Ans) Using the inherent strength of an individual and concentrating on the strength. This
Strength based approach helps the client to look themselves as best. They focus on
value they bring and just be what they are (Girdler, Dhu and Isaacs, 2018) . This helps
to focus on the strength and gain positivity rather than thinking about the negative
characteristics. Every person has personal strengths and it is important to focus on them
as they help them to become successful and learn all the things that are required.
Question 1.2 Discuss the importance of staying within the limits of your job description when
dealing with a client.
Ans) It is important to wok according to job description as it helps to understand clear
responsibility and authority and there are no chances of mistake. Understanding and
working according to the responsibilities helps to achieve the goals on timely basis as
well as according to the desire of clients. As there will not be any repetition of activity
that is in the job description of others (Warner, Xu and Morken, 2017). It also rates a
positive impact on client and they are satisfied by the services. It also also beneficial for
he business also if everyone performs the task according to the responsibilities that are
assigned to them.
Question 1.3
a) Explain the importance of assisting the client to identify and prioritise their own needs.
Ans) It is important for a person to know the needs and wants as then the individual will able to
demand something and will be satisfied by the service that is being provided to him.
b) Describe how you would assist the client with identifying and prioritising their needs.
Ans) The client should analyse the strengths and weakness and try to find the needs and wants.
Also by asking questions needs of a person can be analysed and the person can know them. It is
also possible that with experience one is able to understand the needs of clients (McBride, 2019).
Question 1.4
Comment on considering referrals for a client when they have approached your centre for
assistance.
Ans) The first task is to understand the needs and wants of the client and then provide the
alternates to the person. Explain the pros and cons of each alternatives and assist the client with

the best solution (Bougangue and Ling, 2017). It is important to analyse and understand the
problem of client and assist the person accordingly.
Question 1.5
a) Describe the difference between a cold referral and a warm referral.
Ans) In cold referral the client is given information related to another agency so as the client can
contact them. In contrary in warm referrals the another service provider is contacted on the
behalf of client and maybe there is chance of writing a report (Rankine, 2017)
b) Provide an example of when you would use each of the above referrals.
 Cold referral is in the form of e- mail and etc.
 Direct calling is example of warm referral
Question 1.6 Identify three simple steps you can take to make a client feel comfortable prior to
an assessment.
Ans) It is important to make the client comfortable at the initial stage so that the person is
comfortable in the whole assessment. As first impression is the last impression so greet the client
and make them feel normal. Talk to the client and try to develop relations with them. And try to
answer all the questions of client and understand the problem.
Question 1.7 Discuss three key features from the Privacy Act in regard to collecting client
information.
Ans) Right to privacy takes care that all the information that is shared by the individual should
be kept private and not shared with anyone else.
 Right to privacy assures that the information of client is not shared with anyone without
the consent of the client.
 It is important to keep the data of client safe and secure.
 It is also important to take only hat much information that is required for assessment and
client is ready to share.
Question 1.8 Detail the importance of obtaining a client’s consent prior to collecting or
distributing information about the client.

Ans) The information that is shared by the client is private and it is legally wrong to use the
information for any other purpose. If it is necessary to share the information and that is in benefit
of client and is related with professional work then a prior consent of client is important (Pratt
and Warner, 2019). Also the client should be aware about the information and data that is
collected and is related to client.
Question 1.9
a) Discuss at least two potential risks when working with clients in a centre.
Ans) The risks that is associated while working with clients in centre are mentioned below:
 There is chance that the client is not satisfied by the services that are provided.
 Clients are not willing to play the cost that is incurred in the process.
b) Identify two (2) ways to avoid these risks.
Ans) The ways through which the above mentioned risk can be avoided are as follows:
 Discuss the ways in which their problem will be solved and give them alternatives so that
the in the end there is nob problem related to the work.
 Analyse the cost in starting and discuss the cost with the client so that if there is any
problem that is solved on initial basis.

b) Discuss your approach with this client using strengths based methodology.
Ans) Strength based approach means the focus should be on the strengths of the individual. It is
important to understand the problem of client and find analyse the strengths of the person that
would help the person to come out of the situation. The advisor would help that person to take
decisions and wisely take advantage of the strengths.
The approach helps the client by understanding the strengths and motivating the person to
achieve what he needs. The negative factors are kept away from the person and the focus is on
positivity. The client will get the benefit as the negativity will be vanished and the focus would
be on the strength of the employee (Jonas and et. al., 2018).
a) Describe how you document the assessment process in accordance with organ procedures.
Ans) It is important to do proper documentation as the details of clients should be kept properly.
The process of documentation helps to create the result in an effective way. The organ procedure
is common in prison and all the details related to that should be kept in a secure way. The

assessment is easy and proper due to proper procedure followed and in this case organ procedure
is followed. This proves that the assessment process is in accordance with the organ procedures.

Ans) As the husband of our client has left her. She is in need of a lawyer that can help her to get
divorced and get compensation. As she has three young children so she needs a skilled lawyer
that can help her and help her to get divorced and get compensation so that she is able to give a
quality life to her children and when the situation will be fine she will get mental stability and
come out of depression that will also be beneficial for her (Finkelstein and et. al., 2020).
d) Discuss your analysis of the client’s information and their co-existing needs.
Ans) The client is in problem as her husband has left her and she is also facing financial crisis.
Another problem is that she is not also and has three young children of whom she has to take
care of. Due to all this she is in depression and doctor has suggested her to do meditation. Firstly
she is in need of financial assistance as she has to take care of young children and that is possible
if she will get a job. Before getting job it is important to become mentally stable. The client is
also in need of a good lawyer that would help her to fight the case and also get compensation. It
is important to be mentally healthy to perform all the tasks.
e) Comment on the maintenance and storage of the client’s details regarding confidentiality.
Ans) The details of clients care important and should be kept secure. It is important to keep all
the data of client secured. The information of a person is personal and should not be disclosed
and shared with everyone. The client shares the information with community so that the problem
can be solved. It is the duty of the person to not share the information with anyone. If there is
need to disclose the information then prior consent of client is required. No one has right to
communicate and share the information of client with others. It is legally wrong to share break
he confidentiality and share the information with others. So, the confidentiality should be
maintained and all the information that is shared by the client should not be communicated with
others with the permission of the client.

need to go to rehab centres. It is ethically wrong to use drugs. So it will be helpful for the client
to take rehabilitation services and stop taking drugs.

d) Discuss the feedback procedures from both the client and other service/s.
Ans) Taking feedback from customers means asking them about their review , issues, insights.
Also it is includes understanding the problem of client and 6taking measures to solve it. Through
feedback all the problems can be shared with the community and solution can be taken out.
There are various methods through which feedback from customers can be taken. The basic
method is by providing them feedback form. The use email also helps to take feedback of client
and people post the problems and the feedback on websites so that is also a source from which
feedback related to clients can be taken (Rossiter and et. al., 2019).
e) Comment on the analysis of feedback and opportunity for self-reflection.
Ans) The feedback is important and helps to take measures for development. We can understand
the problem of client and the drawback that the client is facing in service. It helps to give better
solutions and improve the services as desired by the client. The good feedback helps to perform
better and bad feedback helps in taking measures for development.
Task 3 –Project
Question 3.2 Explain the process of assessment to this client. Complete and include any relevant
privacy and consent forms that this client may require.
Ans) In order to assess Nancy they need to identify the needs, preferences and strength of Nancy.
In this case Nancy does not have any place to live in and first need of her is to get a house to live
in and an employment in order to bear expenses of court cases.
Question 3.3
a) Discuss how you would use the principles of the Strengths Based Approach towards
assessment with this client.
Ans) As she goes through a lot in terms of domestic violence she needs to be strengthen
as it takes a lot of strength to fight with someone that at time mean a lot. Various
principles of strength based approach is used in this case. The main principle of strength
based theory which is used in this case is the principle of INITIAL FOCUS which states

that one should focus on their own positive aspects rather than focusing on problem
which strengthen Nancy to fight with the present situation. More principles applicable
are: one is responsible for her own recovery and the entire community is seen as oasis
and not as an obstacle.
b) Outline the benefit of using this approach. (30 words)
Ans) This approach will help Nancy to recover herself from psychological pain she get from
being alone and strengthen her to move on in life and teach her to live her life in her own way.
Question 3.4
Compose five questions for assessment that you would discuss with this client in order to
establish her needs. What are the educational qualities of Nancy to get unemployment?
