ABOUT THE ASSESSMENTS
Assessment Methods
This workbook uses the following assessment methods:
1. Knowledge Assessment – A set of generic and workplace questions testing the
student’s general knowledge and understanding of the general theory behind the unit.
2. Case Study – Detailed scenarios and simulated environments providing all necessary
information required to complete relevant tasks and activities.
Resources Required for Assessment
Assessor to provide:
Case studies and simulations
Information about work activities
You will need access to:
A video recording device (e.g. handheld cameras, mobile phones, etc.)
Computer with access to Internet and email
Installed software: MS Office Word (or equivalent), Adobe Acrobat Reader
Access to legislation relevant to the community services industry, including codes of
conduct, WHS legislation, practice standards, etc.
At least two (2) persons who will volunteer in the roleplay activity
At least five (5) people who have email accounts
Printer to print policies and procedures in the Case Study Assessment

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENT
The questions in this workbook are divided into two (2) categories:
- Knowledge Assessment
- Practical Assessment
The questions under Knowledge Assessment are all in a short answer format. The longer
questions requiring creative and analytical thought processes are covered in the Practical
Assessment. You must answer all questions using your own words. However, you may
reference your learner guide and other relevant resources and learning materials to
complete this assessment.
Some questions cover processes you would likely encounter in a workplace. Ideally, you
should be able to answer these questions based on the processes that are currently in place in
your workplace. However, if you do not currently have access to a workplace, then answer
the questions based on processes that should be implemented in a typical workplace setting.

for people rights and also make sure that people are being provided

make their own decision and their decisions are also valued in this
community.

Aboriginal and Islander
Child Care (SNAICC)
SNAICC is the national peak body who are protecting the interests of
aboriginal and Torres islander children and families. This body is also
being involved in providing early education and care services to
children. The team members are being involved in providing children
of aboriginals with long day care, foster care services, crèches and
also providing assistance to those younger generations who are at risk.
Department of Social
Services Australia
Department of social services Australia is provided with the duty to
develop policies, rules and regulations in order to establish a fair
society in Australia. In this department social policies are
implemented and developed. They are providing care services to
families with disabled person and also various child support policies
are being developed by them.
Mental Health Australia
Mental health Australia is working to promote health outcome of
those who are suffering from mental disorders. They are making sure
that to provide protection to mentally ill people from any type of
physical, sexual and emotional abuse. In this every mentally ill person
can be able to participate without any sort of discrimination.

AASW is a body which comprises of social workers, they are working
towards promoting fairness and transparency in society and also
special considerations are been taken for those who are marginalized.
