AI Summary
This essay critically examines the statement 'What’s the big deal? Nobody gets hurt or disadvantaged if you cheat,' by exploring the ethical implications, trust and credibility issues, academic impacts, and societal consequences associated with cheating. It references existing research to argue that while cheating may appear to have no direct victims, it ultimately undermines personal development, erodes trust, and hinders the acquisition of essential skills and knowledge. The essay highlights that cheating, although providing short-term gains like higher grades, leads to long-term disadvantages such as lowered self-esteem, lack of genuine accomplishment, and inability to solve complex problems, ultimately affecting career growth and societal advancement. It concludes that hard work and genuine learning are more beneficial for continuous development and long-term success, contrasting with the deceptive and ultimately self-defeating nature of cheating. INTRODUCTION
An act of breaking rules and regulations to get unfair advantage is known as cheating. An
individual who is known for cheating is referred as cheater (Houser, Vetter and Winter, 2012).
This report is based is on the topic cheating and is described about when a person execute this
kind of act than nobody gets hurt than what is the big deal in that. Further different aspect related
with this topic is all mention under this.
Cheating is known as a process of act unfairly in order to get more advantages. The main
question which rise is why cheating is wrong? Yes there is no doubt that this is an unfair act for
honest students. A cheater receive something from act of fraud for which honest students work
hard in classes. This process also hamper the quality of education. Education is more than just
learning few acts during diploma ( Shariff and Norenzayan, 2011).It is more than find solutions
to problem, understand complicated issues in details and many more. A person who do cheating
cheat himself .Different approaches are there which can be used by an individual to achieve end
results and set goals. The ethical way is to perspire and the short cut way and to follow or adopt
the immoral ways to achieve success. But the main disadvantage of cheating is that it give
fruitful results for only short time while hard work help an individual to get number of
advantages in long run. Different level and types of cheating are there from which academic
cheating is known as the adoption of unfair way to get high marks or grades in examination. This
type of cheating is highly exist in number of schools (Jones, 2011). This give a rise to big jolt to
the main principle of education. Main aim of education system is to develop self depend
individuals but cheating leave no space for proper development of an individual. Basically the
act of cheating does not harm other person but negative affect the development of individual and
tool many cause big hurdles at the stage of career development. A student can score high in
exams with the help of cheating but in the long run marks did not help an individual to
understand complex situations and find it solutions.
Number of students and children tempt to cheat because they think this is an easy way to
score high. Sometimes children become too lazy to prepare for exams and waste their precious
time and in the end to cover the loss and to get higher marks in exams they perceive cheating as
the best method. But the act of cheating is more harmful in long (Anderman and Murdock,
2011). There is no doubt that cheating help in get higher grades but it results in lowered self
esteem of individual. As his conscious remind him always that his scores are not real. Further, he
also losses the sense of accomplishment. Cheating snatch the real joy and happiness and the
cheater only pretends to be happy. As the cheater never study a subject so hid lack of knowledge
makes the situation more difficult. This kind of attitude and tactics help an individual to score
high but these individuals fails to face the real world. They never earn the abilities their
education system have and this leads that they never fulfill the expectations of employer and not
achieve any kind of growth in the career (Fischbacher and Föllmi-Heusi, 2013).

Hard work take a long time to show the brightness but cheating fades that shine forever. With the
help of cheating an individual can not develop a ability to develop the creative solutions of a
complex problem. Hard work leads to continue development of knowledge in an individual and
he timely learn new things and find solutions (Shu, Gino and Bazerman, 2011). On the other
hand, cheating leads to damage the reputation of students in eyes of other students and teachers
also. A person who execute the act of cheating loose respect and nobody trust on that individual.
Cheating does not provide any kind of disadvantage to others but provide number of
disadvantages to the individual. Hard work focuses on learning and knowledge of an individual
and provide long term advantages to individual. An employer never complain about an hard
work employee and provide him number of opportunities to growth.
Act of cheating results in breach of trust of other individual. When an individual adopt
cheating than it is not harmful for other but it is harmful for himself only as this block the
learning of individual. All this creates number of hurdles and obstacles in the career development
of individual and employer complain a more about these employees. Too many cheating hamper
the ability of individual to find innovative solution and better understand the complex situation.
As per the point view of Gino, 2011 cheating is right as this help an individual to score high and
it does not provide any king of harm to other individual. On the other hand, Shu, 2011
Concluded that cheating leads to decrease self accomplishment of individual as with the help of
this an individual can score high in exams but can not achieve success in long run.
CONCLUSION
From the above information it c an be summarized that when an individual execute the
act of cheating or do cheating than it does not harm other individuals but it provide number of
disadvantages to that individual. Cheating is a shortcut to get high grades and marks in exams
but this leads to decline the self accomplishment of individual. Cheating leads to lack of
knowledge in an individual which creates lot of problem in career development stage of
individual. Overall, an individual must adopt the way of hard work to ensure his continuous
