1CHEVRON’S INFRASTRUCTURE EVALUATION
1. Chevron uses seismic imaging technology for the searching of the natural gas. The sound
is passed through the deep of earth to detect the pores. The reflection of the sound wave
is detected by Geophones (Chevron Policy, 2018). The data collected from the signals are
then analyzed by the experts and geologist in order to understand the structure of the
cross section. The findings of the experts detect the portability of finding the natural gas
from the particular cross section f the earth.
2. Security vulnerabilities :
In case, if there is lack of security and appropriate security controls are not
adopted properly, then security issues may arises.
In case of remote connection, if the right encryption and authentication
mechanisms are not taken into account for connection remote devices through
wireless the violation of the security in the system happens.
Infrastructure information about the organization is available in the public media
(Rezai, Keshavarzi & Moravej,2017). This becomes helpful for intruders to
collect relevant information for attacking the system.
Solutions:
This ensures the ability to block the unauthorized access to system. This approach
protects system from unethical attack.
Unauthorized execution is not desirable and vulnerabilities in the system are reported.
Accessing and writing on the hard disk can only be done by the authorized for opening
system, log files etc.

3. Pros
Reduces cost: The migration of data to the cloud architecture helps to reduce the
cost for the organization, as the maintenance of the servers on premises is not
required (Peng, & Gala,2014).The data can be accessed from anywhere at any
time of the day from the cloud storage.
Automation of the disaster recovery technique helps to restore the data even after
the system failure.
Cons
In case if the internet connection is lost, there is no chance to access the data.
The data security of the cloud may arise a major concerns is the security of the cloud data
is handled by the third party cloud service provider(Agarwal et a.,2016).Certain business
applications like AutoCAD do not run in the cloud platform.
4. Importance of single sign on in business :
Reduces confusion over the system password arises from different usernames and
passwords.
Automation of the login increases user’s experience.
Easier accountability
Improvement of security.
5. CIO analysis the current business process and indentifies knowledge resources. The
objective of CIO is to find the new tools for the business. CIO must acquire the
