1.1 Explain
employees’ roles and
responsibilities in
relation to the
prevention and
control of infection.
To keep ourselves and others safe by following
trust procedures and policies ensuring training is
up to date. By wearing PPE, donning and doffing
PPE correctly, safely disposing of, recording and
reporting practices which are unsafe.
By working with agreed ways of working, we follow
the guidelines of controlling substances hazardous
to health including the preparation, use, storage
and disposal. We ensure everything is clean and fit
for use and follow the agreed ways of working in
regard to barrier nursing infectious patients.
Safe disposal and storage of clinical waste, own
personal hygiene by following uniform policies and
following WHO(world health organisation) hand
washing technique are all responsibilities we as
employees have.

Regulations 2002 (COSHH), preparation, use,
storage and disposal of substances hazardous to
health.

safety requirements,

Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013
(RIDDOR), recording, reporting and incident
forms.
