Meeting conducted following the crisis situation2 Briefing on the crisis The crisis at hand was child neglect. This primarily refers to the maltreatment of a child by failure to provide the essentials needed for adequate care and betterment of a child's growth. Some of the circumstances contributing to this crisis were as follows; lack of meeting the basic needs such as clothing and feeding, lack of educational support such as not sending the child to school, lack of proving medical care to the young person when necessary and failure to provide safety to the young person. In response to this kind of crisis, statutory reporting requirements were formulated. This ensured easier identification and response to the crisis to the individuals affected. The requirements included; young people not attending school, children in a violent domestic home, substance abuse by young people, mental disorders, abortions and unplanned pregnancies among the young people and lastly physical injury of the child by a guardian or parents. To bring the issue clearly, we identified the legal consequences of child neglect. Points such as payment of fines, incarceration of the guardian, probation of the guardian or couple that has neglected the child, limitation of parental rights and application of restraining orders by placing a child in protective custody such as a foster family were considered. Support resources also were employed to ensure flawless achievement of the objectives. Strategies used to respond to the crisis In responding to the child neglect, different approaches were employed to achieve effectiveness. To begin with, the young people under this crisis were treated with respect and empathy. This allowed positive relationships to build up between the young people and facilitators hence being able to address the matter quite well. Secondly, the history of the involved families was

This helped bring other significant events to the light to understand how to deal with the patterns that were identified to affect the young individuals. Lastly, the legal ramification of the crisis was carried out respectively according to severity. For example, payment of fines, application or restraining orders or limitation of parental rights. In my opinion, I think conducting more research would be a critical strategy. This is because, neglect can have future consequences on a child. Therefore, being able to look further on the effects of this crisis would be essential. Resources allocated In solving the crisis, different support resources were applied. This includes; financial support, human support and lastly special support. Through such resources, it was easier to respond to different cases efficiently. The support resources were provided in time thus allowing the departments concerned achieve their objectives flawlessly. Financial support was vital since an organization; funding was required to tackle the crisis efficiently. On the other hand, without the human assistance, the services would not be offered. Therefore, the human support was also critical. Also, the special support resources ensured cases that were more advanced and needed medication and therapy were attended to adequately. Communication skills used to negotiate and possibly resolve any conflict. In resolving conflicts, communication skills can be used. To begin, we have active listening. Being a good listener ensures one comprehends what he or she is told or asked to do. For example, a person can understand other people’s perspectives hence being able to work through a conflict (Hargie, 1997). Secondly, open-mindedness can be used to solve disputes. This particular communication skill helps one resolve matters quickly, therefore being able to
