In the current case, child of 13 year has chosen as the person who is facing from trauma. It
has been analysed that this child is being abused by his mother. Currently, mother of this
child physically abusing him and biting him at daily basis in order to relax her temper. The
boy Tom is belonging to middle class family whose mother is mentally unfit and also
tortures her own child physically abusing them. The family belongs to London whose
culture is very open. The culture support drinking habits too. This drinking habit is the main
reason due to which mother of Tom tortures him a lot by harassing him a lot. This abuse
have affected a lot on mental as well as physical health of Tom.
20. What are some of their core needs?
It has been analysed that there are certain emotional factors which influences young
functioning of child. With reference to the current case, it has been analysed that there are
some core requirement of the Tom during his physical abuse time. It can be said that at the
time of abuse this child needed support of medical carer and right guardian who could
handle the same situation in effective manner. Along with this, in this situation it is essential
for medical practitioners to give healthy environment to individuals with the help of which
they can recover soon without feeling any fear within their surrounded area. Medical
practitioners can also helps this child by keeping them away from mother of Tom as she is
the main reason behind the condition of Tom. This will definitely help out Tom in
recovering soon in quick manner.
