Chatham, R.E. and Mixer, S.J., 2020. Cultural influences on childhood obesity
in ethnic minorities: a qualitative systematic review. Journal of Transcultural
Nursing, 31(1). pp.87-99.
Summary- The focus of this investigation is to understand the cultural influences related with
childhood obesity in ethnic minorities. A systematic review is conducted in this research by
sampling studies since 2008, including two fifty one articles in order to understand the link
between cultural influences and childhood obesity. The conclusion drawn by this research is that
cultural practices such as traditional foods and family lives, impact the cases of childhood
obesity and need to be considered while nursing and taking care of children with obesity.
Evaluation- It is evaluated that their research paper focuses on one of the more neglected areas
associated with childhood obesity, which are cultural influences of ethnic minorities. This search
highlights the role of providing children care with traditional influences so that they're able to
tackle childhood obesity more effectively. The main limitation of this investigation is that it
depends primarily on secondary sources and does not have primary data to verify the discussions
conducted in the investigation.
Reflection- The knowledge gained from this research will provide new information about how
to deal with cases in which the patient of childhood obesity is from ethnic minorities.

offer advice to parents so that childhood obesity can be controlled in England. This study argues
that Fashion Child Measurement program is regressive government policy which will negatively
affect minority children instead of controlling obesity in England.
Evaluation- The critical analysis included study on the discourse of childhood obesity and
implications of national child measurement programs is conducted effectively. It is evaluated
