Introduction
• Child obesity has become a major health issue worldwide
and prevalence of child obesity become higher in the last few
years.
• The focus of the study is to identify the major factors that
influence child obesity, various interventions taken by the
government and barriers in managing the illness.
• The study has used secondary research such as material from
CINHAL, MEDLINE and other academic research paper from
1999- 2011 to collect information.

Introduction
• The study has identified that
– many factors are present that influence child
obesity.
– Effective interventions have been taken to
address the issue.
– However, many barriers have created
obstacles in the way of managing the
epidemic, from which financial problem and
stigmatization of the obese children is two
main factors that influence obesity(Karnik &
Kanekar, 2012).
