This essay aims to discover the stance of Martin Luther on vocation. Martin Luther has
described this fact of vocation in his own manner and its relation with the Christian lives. Its
impact on lives of individuals will be discussed in this paper as well. The influence of vocation
on Christian lives is very important for human beings.
Martin Luther has described that vocation is one of the most important factors for human
beings and Christian lives (Bainton 2013). It can be considered as the central point for all human
beings. It is supposed that all human beings work through their own vocations as asked by God.
God is present in the spirits of human beings through these particular vocations. According to
Luther, God is the omnipotent being who saved all human beings from their sins through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ (Jacobsen 2012). God has placed all individuals in their temporal
lives through prayers and holiness. Human beings must carry out their duties with honesty and
faith by all vocations like parents, spouse, citizens or members of the church.
The foremost responsibility of human beings is to love their neighbors and serve them in
their difficult times (Bainton 2013). This implies the fact that a doctor should always stand by
their neighbors when one among them is ill and needs immediate treatment. Jesus Christ will
always show his faith on those people since they are justifying their vocations. God has a totally
different entity and He always there to serve and protect individuals (Doherty 2014). This is one
of the biggest facts as to why human beings need not serve God since He is there already and He
needs the services of human beings through their honesty, holiness, truthfulness and trust. As per
the Holy Scripture, it has been said that the first commandment of God is to show him faith by
all the heart, mind and soul (Lull and Russell 2012).
