Introduction
According to Christian ethics of prayer, there is an ample number of prayers in
different churches. In Methodist Church, the prayer starts with “opening response to God”
and then it moves on to “thanksgiving” and then to “hymn” and “confession of sin”
(Williams, 2014). In the Lutheran Church, the form of prayer was revised by Martin Luthar.
They have different forms of prayers from that of the Protestants. The prayer starts with “The
Cross” going through “The Inventory” to “The Cruciforms” and finally merges into “The
Cross”. A Meditative Prayer is a form of Christian prayer that concentrates on the term
namely meditation which in other words suggests to ponder upon something or to reflect even
it can be to study something along with practising it. In Christianity, Meditation Prayer is to
probe deeply into the concepts and thoughts of God and devote wholehearted concentration
into the devotion for the love of God. In other words, Meditative Prayer is seeking to
comprehend the existence of God and how we are surrounded by Christ everywhere.
However, Meditation Prayer and Contemplative Prayer look the same sometimes, but they
are different from each other. The latter is depended on the former because the basic
principles of the latter are intricately related to the former (Wilhoit, 2014). Meditative Prayer
is not always suggested or enforced by the church authority because it should come from
within to show the urge to know Christ more (Hatch et al., 2016). According to Christianity
prayer is extremely powerful and impactful and it can do something really miraculous and
unexpected. Elijah once prayed with such devotion to driving away rain and for coming three
and a half years it did not rain there (Luhrmann, 2013). This instance shows how strong and
effective prayers can be and naturally it can go wrong if utilized in the wrong way. Therefore
the thesis of the paper is to identify how the meditative prayer is different from contemplative
prayer and how Meditative Prayer benefits human beings to concur the divinity and to
