Abstract
The purpose of this study paper is to try to bring a clear understanding that chronic early
absence issues that adversely affect a large number of students has really risen. The literature
seems to indicate that the rate of absenteeism in a student is the result of four largely agreed upon
aspects: family factors, school issues, economic influences, and student variables. research paper
indicated that the attendance rate of students impacts their progress in school, and that poor
attendance can lead to delayed graduate. The long-term consequences of chronic absenteeism
can lead to a population that is uneducated, unemployed, financially unstable and also unhealthy,
because a lifetime of good health correlates with higher levels of education. The research paper
also goes further to try and explains the various strategies that the government and educators can
utilize to curb the issue of chronic absenteeism and truancy among students. Furthermore, this
study has utilized the qualitative research approach so that a clear link between absenteeism of
students and their courses can be established with the aim of finding viable solutions to them.
Additionally, the paper tries to provide viable strategies that can be undertaken to help
refocus the attention of truant students to academics and curb chronic absenteeism in school.
These strategies for preventing absenteeism are necessary in any school environment. It is
important to always reinforce the importance of earning to all students regardless of their grade.
Some of the strategies proposed to be used by educators and the government in collision with
parents to help curb chronic absenteeism are providing a positive school environment that can
motivate students to learn, providing a written correspondence with parents when the students
start skipping classes and school. It is also worth noting that school absence with an excuse is
counted the same way as being absent without apology according to the school policies. Some of
the reason for chronic absenteeism may be due to social phobia of socialization.

The criterion for truancy and chronic absenteeism differs from one region to another. A
common ground for all regions is 10days out of school.
