History of the Company
Volvo is a Swedish multinational company which has its headquarters at Gothenburg.
Manufacturing and distribution of trucks are one off the main responsibility of Volvo. Volvo is
also involved in the manufacturing of marine supplies. Volvo is also considered to be the 2nd
largest truck supplier globally. Until 1999, AB Volvo got sold to Ford Company. The logo that is
used by AB Volvo and Volvo cars are same. The logo was built as per the SKF ball bearing. The
initial activities of AB Volvo started in the year 1926. The sum of 280 cars were initially
launched in the year 1928 and nearly 640 cars were launched in the year 1930. In the year of
1977, the Volvo car wanted to collaborate with the rival Swedish company Saab Scania. The
offer was not accepted by Saab Scania. Renault and Volvo collaborated. In the year 1979, Volvo
Car Corporation was changed to Volvo group. In the year 1999, Volvo Car Corporation was sold
to Ford Motor Company in $6.45 billion. Geely is considered to be the largest share-holder of the
Volvo cars. In the year of 2013, Volvo Construction Equipment Rents were sold to Platinum
Equity.

Klas Bendrik, the CIO of Volvo in his interview stated that the Volvo has been
collaborating with Information Technology in an efficient manner. Volvo has been working on
the developing Volvo Cloud for their own cars. With the help of this technology the main

through which the cars are passing by. Klas Bendrik, the CIO of Volvo stated that the
proposition of the rad will be shared to the other vehicle owners with the help of Volvo Cloud.

advantage in integration of the entire process. This platform of connected cars allows the
processing of the entire system along with the services that are enabled with the help of the cloud
communication services. The services that are provided by the cloud based entity is supported by
the integration of the entire project and the entire system will be performed with the help of the

The entire focus has shifted from implementation of efficient mechanics to implementation of
the updated information technology. Concern of the car owners have shifted from gaining

Volvo has been the first company that has created the projection of the first emission free
quarry. This product will ensure the fact that the quarry will run for 10 weeks with power
standby mode. The output that will be provided can be efficiently compared to the normal
quarries. The consumption of Carbon di oxide gets reduced by 95%. The total cost that is
incurred in the completion of the project also gets decreased by 25% in the field of operation.
