Executive Summary
City Rail Link is read project which is an ongoing construction process established in
Auckland, New Zealand. It is a mega project consisting of about 4.4 billion USD equivalent
for the construction of a 3.5 km double track rail tunnel which has to be built underneath the
city centre of Auckland. This would form a link between the Britomart Transport Centre and
the Mount Eden Railway Station. The development of the City Rail Link is associated with
double track query with the development of new underground stations constructed for the
centre of the city. The current project is an adaptive version which is developed from the
previous proposal delivered for building a rail access towards the city centre of Auckland. It
is extremely important to have a plan develop for building the project that would have a
transport investment from the heart of the city to anywhere. The proposal received dispute
support from the public but there was an issue regarding the significant cost and associated
difficulty due to the size and budget of the project. It was found that the project funding was
also a subject of controversy. The central government scheme for word for supporting the
project so that the construction can begin by the year 2020. This was 4 years late than the
proposed time of beginning 2016. The City Rail Link development has already started and it
is to be completed by the year 2024 as per the project is schedule and according to the budget
allocation in sponsorship that the project is receiving. The internship awarded for name the
project director for the organisation and the construction project requires accessing the
internal information for the project. As instructed, the information about the project has been
gathered including the understanding of the project in details. The types of stakeholder
responsibilities and relationship associated with the project has been described in details
along with a short essay provided on procurement procedures. It also has to be kept in mind
that along with the project comes in the stakeholders and their responsibilities or relationships
with the project. This includes the key stakeholders of the city rail link, who would be

associated with the development and construction of the project either directly or indirectly.
Since the project would also be funded and organised by the government of New Zealand,
they are also to be serving as a primary stakeholder project. The roles of the key stakeholders
are also identified in the report as below along with the hierarchical structure of the
stakeholder within the construction project, identify all the associated direct and indirect
stakeholders to the project. With the description of all these associated roles and
responsibilities of the stakeholders, there is another important inclusion that needs to be done
for the discussion, and these are the procurement plan that mostly construction organisations
are implementing. What is successful project from the implementation of a procurement plan
is to be developed in such a way that every member within the organisation is associated and
acquainted with the process by which required in of resources for the project would be done.
