•Business: Exchange of goods and service in
return of money.
•Business Environment: Sum of all the external and internal
factors that impacts a business.
•PESTLE analysis can be done to identify the external
factors.
•Employees, policies and organisational
structure can be considered as internal factors.

Purposes of different types of

Private:-
•Run by private individuals;
•Great significance in the economy;
•Businesses are sole traders, partnerships and franchisee;
•Aim: To earn profit, Increase sales;
•Financed from the personal savings, bank loans and
government subsidies;
•Example: Unilever.

•Controlled by the government;
•Financed from the taxes;
•Aim: To deliver essential public services and to use
resource properly;
•Related to health care, infrastructure and universities;
•Example: BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).

Voluntary:-
•Third sector of the economy;
•Owned by any single individual or a group of people;
•Aim of these is to assist specific type of people;
•Fundraising, grants and donations.

trust;
• They develop local communities and believes in creating
a society which is free from any suffering;

Partnerships: There are lots of business prevailing in the
market which is run and owned by the more than two people
or partnerships. Both exercise control over the functions and
operations of the firm in some or other way. The sharing of
the ownership can be wither equal or any one party may
have more share in comparison to other.
