Introduction
When there is a long term shift in weather pattern and temperature than it is called
climate change (Cianconi, Betrò and Janiri, 2020). The main reasons of such shifts are
due to natural causes but since 1800s, it is accorded that human activities played a
major role in climate change. Due to the release of carbon emissions by petrol and
diesel vehicles, it is recorded that most of the humans are facing with respiratory issues.
The following essay is about what extent is climate change a result of human activities.
Main Body
Due to industrial revolution, human activities at factories and manufacturing areas have
released a large amount of carbon emissions which is released in atmosphere and it
provide harm to the environment. This will further cause climatic change in a rapid and
disaster manner, the ice of Atlantic gets melted down faster and many others. Some
natural causes such as change in sun’s energy and volcanic eruption can also impact
badly upon climatic changes (Sommer and Klöckner, 2021). The main reason for huge
amount of carbon emissions are factories and petrol and diesel vehicles running on the
roads. Hence, UK government had shown a concern about their environment and
climatic changes and they are working to ban petrol cars and promote to use electric
cars by making more charging points. Humans must feel guilty to harm the natural
environment of earth for their comfort and convenience. When fossil fuel burns it
produce a lot of air pollutants in air which pollute fresh air to breathe and it also
increases the temperature of earth. Humans turning more toward industrialization will
also cause more global warming for the earth. All kinds of toxics are released by
industries in air and water and the overuse of electricity can also be considered as the

main cause behind climatic change because more fossil fuels get burned when more
electricity is used. Hence, it is compulsory for the humans to use electricity appropriately
and do not waste it for unnecessarily.
On the other hand, deforestation is also one of the biggest reasons for climatic changes.
Humans cut down the forests for their purpose like building industries, living areas or for
another reasons. It is recorded that humans cut millions of acres of forest every year for
their commercial purposes. These forests have large impact upon reducing carbon
emissions because trees and plants inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen which is
good for environment and humans health but when trees are cut down and the area of
forest is getting reduced than the percentage of carbon dioxide in air will increase and
this can cause various respiratory issues to human beings.
River floods affected 21 million people at worldwide level and it is estimated that if the
condition will not get improved than this number will get increased to 54 million in the
year 2030. It is also found that most of the people are unaware about their actions and
activities which cause harm to their environment and it further cause issues in climatic
change. Hence, it is important to aware people about how they are harming their climate
and environment which can even cause bad upon their health (Guo and et. al., 2018). It
is essential for government to check on regular basis that their industrial areas are
following all legal laws or not to protect their environment and to reduce carbon
emissions. Discharging waste in rivers and other water bodies will be penalties by the
government.
Humans cannot control natural reasons for climatic changes but they can work on those
reasons for climatic changes which are caused by them like they can avoid using petrol

cars, they must stop cutting trees and in case they cut trees for their commercial use
than they must plant more trees at some other place to maintain the balance. If every
individual understands their responsibility for protective environment than humans will
become successful to protect their climatic change (Swinburn and et. al., 2019). It is
essential for people to switch toward public transport or carpool with others to reduce
the carbon emissions produced by vehicles in air (Essay on Role of Human Activities in
Global Warming, 2020). They can also try to walk or use bicycles for shorter distancing
and avoiding using vehicles.
Recycling items can also protect environment because recycled items will reduce
wastage in environment. People must dispose organic wastage properly instead of
throwing it openly at anywhere. Another reason for harming air is using and burning
plastic bags hence; it is essential for every individual to understand their responsibility
toward environment and must use paper bags or cloth bags instead of plastic bags. On
the other hand, reducing electricity wastage can also help to make stable climatic
conditions (Kahn and et. al., 2019). It is essential to turn off the lights and fans when
there is no one in the room as well as to unplug the appliances when they are not in
use.
The Climate Change Act 2008 is the basis for UK to control and tackle the issues of
climatic changes. According to this law, every individual must focus to reduce the
carbon emissions and other greenhouse gasses which will help humans to maintain the
good condition of climate change. This Act also supports the UK’s commitment to
urgent international action to tackle climate change. To achieve this aim UK government
has made target to reduce UK greenhouse gas emissions fully by the year 2050. This

Act also established the Committee on Climate Change which can review whether the
human activities are changing toward to reduce carbon emissions or not. This
committee will help the government of UK to analyse the actual condition and the ways
to improve the condition in much better ways to reach their targets. This committee not
only work to review the actual conditions but they are also responsible to aware people
about harmful; effects of climatic changes upon their life. According to a report, it is
analysed that UK’s 20% carbon emissions are released from Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland (A legal duty to act, 2021). Hence, UK aims to reduce the carbon
emissions first from these places and then work on other places of UK. This Act
requires the UK Government to produce a UK Climate Change Risk Assessment
(CCRA) every five years. This will help the UK government to assess the present and
future risks as well as opportunities related to climatic changes
Conclusion
From the above information it is concluded that human activities are the main reason for
climatic changes which further harm the life of human beings. This is the example of tit
for tat which means whatever human beings are giving to their environment, they will
receive it back. The main reason for harmful climatic changes is releasing carbon
emissions and other greenhouse gasses which are produced by industries, petrol
vehicles and many others. it is also concluded that deforestation can also cause harm to
environment and using plastic bags which further thrown and burned will also harm the
environment. Hence, using paper bags, using transport vehicles, turning off the
switches of fans and lights when no one is in the room are ethical and effective

practices toward the protective environment from harmful carbon emissions and other
greenhouse gasses.
