INTRODUCTION
Self development is a ability of learning new activities developing new skills. This will
help enhance the chances of success and achievement of goals (Ashley, Gifford & Lefebre
(2019)). A clinical Manager are those which hold over the duty for all administrative
characteristic in a clinical artifact. A clinical Manager is responsible for recruiting the new
staffs, training for the employed staff, reviewing treatment plan, developing budget and
communicating with the associates. In context to Clinical Manager, the area chosen in this essay
is New skills learning for the self development plan and the rationale for choosing which
discussed using PERMA model (Galvão, Marques, Ferreira, & Braga (2020)). This essay also
includes the SMART formulation and a action plan for achieving goals and objectives.
Main Body
Self development is looking into the mind and thoughts and concentrate on several ways
available to better individual self. Self development enhances self-consciousness, self respect,
more learning skills and improved professional and personal relationship (Jackson, Opuiyo,
Browndi, & Yun (2022)). Learning new skills will help in beating the boredom and keeps
motivated. It boosts confidence and happiness and makes the person flexible (Driscoll & et.al
(2019)). PERMA model consider a framework for happiness which is based on positive
psychology including study which make the living worthy. This framework comprise of five
elements which are Positive emotion, Engagement, Relationship, Meaning and Accomplishment
Morrish, L & et.al., (2018).
The Clinical Manager can enhance their skills like communication skills, leadership
skills, team-working, networking, critical thinking and problem solving, providing empathy and
conflict solving ability. In context to Clinical Manger Duty the PERMA model can be applied as:
Positive emotion:- It includes the feeling of joy, happiness, love, gratitude and pride.
Positive emotion can be developed to improve well-being. Developing communication
skills enables the Clinical Manager to immediately understand the patient condition and
there needs. They quietly examine or analyse and work to understand the patients
condition so their ability to effectively communicate is very important in providing
excellent care. Effective communication enables the the Clinical Manager to understand
the patient emotional state and also help in making the decision on proper treatment plan
