CLOUD COMPUTING1 AMAZON WEB SERVICE: AMAZON S3: The purpose of this paper is to discuss on Amazon Web Service and further will be discussed about Amazon S3. AWS can be explained as collection of computers kept remotely which together forms platform of cloud computing. This service is offered over the internet by Amazon.com. One of well-known service of AWS is Amazon S3 (Persico, Montieri & Pescapè, 2016). There are many more services of AWS. By Amazon S3, it helps to store huge amount of online data. This is the service which is provided by Amazon.com. The paper will provide a clear structure and working procedure of Amazon S3. Amazon S3 allows the web designers in storing of huge amount of online data. It is free in joining S3 while needs a payment during the service. The cost only includes the hosting cost and the bandwidth cost. As this is the service provided in a very low cost thus attracts various new arising companies (Newcombe et al., 2015). This is a very attractive service for various web designers around the world, provided by Amazon as it is reliable, fast and even fully scalable.SZ3 isprovidedby Amazonashostingsystemwhichisdependentonthe geographical location that offers the datacentres in United States and in Europe. Amazon S3 uses the same infrastructure for storage purpose as used by Amazon.com for the purpose of running the e-commerce network globally (Gupta et al., 2015). Gradually after the evolution of Amazon S3 the price for the service of S3 have gradually reduced. There is an AaaS example which explains the changing of price for the service of S3.
2CLOUD COMPUTING Figure: Price list In case of using the S3 no limit is there for the storage amount and even no limit for the amount of bandwidth, which defines that this is fully scalable as per the need of the users. The service of S3 is reliable and even the uptime of the server is 99.99%. This is the claim that is offered by the Amazon, thus backed up by an agreement of service level (Nawaz et al., 2016). In any case if the guaranteed service is dropped a service credit is entitled to the user. In case of hosting the server of the user’s website there is an allowance to reduce the strain by using Amazon S3. In case of larger files including the files of videos and files of audios creates a huge amount of traffic which puts strain on the user server. Due to this case sometimes, it is knocked out as well. The host outsourcing for large files of the users of Amazon S3 which refers that the users can always optimise the servers to host their websites. This leads the users to be free from anything else which are controlled by Amazon itself. Some of the notable users who use the service of Amazon S3 are discussed below: Smug Mug which is a hosting service of photo uses the Amazon S3. In case of record system Netflix also use Amazon S3. Amazon S3 is also hosted on reedit.
3CLOUD COMPUTING Dropbox, Tahoe-Leafs and Bit case are also on S3. Mojang is also uses Amazon S3.
