CLOUD COMPUTING2 Question 1: Cloud computing is where companies or individuals have a practice where they use a system of remote computer servers which are hosted by the net. Their function is the storage, management, and processing of information in place of local servers or personal computers. Cloud computing is a new venture in today’s world where technology is evolving, and I believe it can influence my career as an IT professional in many ways while also creating new opportunities for me (Armbrustet.al2010, pp.55). First, with learning cloud computing, it has ensured that I can keep up with the evolving technology in IT. When I get employed, I will be able to keep up with the innovations in this field by applying the skills learned in the workplace. (Sether 2016). Next, as more companies are now starting to use cloud computing, there will be demand for people who are skilled as cloud computing infrastructure managers, engineers, and administrators. As I am proficient in this field, it means I will have a lot of opportunities for employment in any company using cloud computing. Also, there will be a need for vendors who can provide services needed to operate cloud computing. Therefore, it means I can also fill this role in companies (Phillips and McKeown 2016, pp. 157). Finally, as a cloud computing specialist, my job path will be secured because it will still be a relevant field in the job market. I will be employed as an expert who is supposed to implement cloud computing infrastructure in companies who want to start using it. Hence, this ensures my career path is secured (Kondoet.al 2009. Pp.10).
CLOUD COMPUTING3 Question 2: There are several experiences in my life both personal and at work where I got skills which I could apply while undertaking my career. I will discuss two of the most outstanding experiences. I pursued a masters degree in IT with a focus on computer networking at Charles Stuart University in Melbourne. I learned a lot of things during class lectures, doing assignments and group work like I got some skills which I could transfer to my career. First skill mastered is communication which I got from undertaking projects in class with my classmates. It enables me to know how to communicate well with fellow workers who are from different backgrounds and work well together. Also, I critical thinking and problem-solving skills in class by completing class assignments. Through completing the tasks given, I was able to get skills to finish them with ease therefore in future I can tackle any issues gotten in my career. Another experience is while working during my holiday internship at an IT company. Here my supervisor had a positive influence on my career because he encouraged me to take on risks and believed in my abilities. After working with him for a while he little by little started to allow me to take the lead on some of the projects we had. It gave me confidence in my abilities, and I was able to have experience in this career field. Hence, I was able to develop my managerial skills here and also know how to work in teams to complete projects given. I also got to learn how to work well in an office environment making it easier for me when I get employed in future.
