Introduction
Bruce wants to develop the web system on cloud environment as it is not feasible to
send SMS to every player. Sometimes, the schedule gets changed at last minute and it
is very difficult to send SMS to every player in a very short period of time. Therefore,
Bruce wants to develop a web system that will automatically inform the players about
everything.
Bruce is a coach at XYD Limited. He has no sufficient infrastructure to set the
database at company’s infrastructure and he has no sufficient developers to handle the
software. Therefore, the web database on cloud is the best choice.
Web Database Implementation on Cloud
The cloud database may contain the structured or unstructured data. The cloud
database has two models-
1. traditional
2. Database as a Service (DBaaS)
In traditional cloud model, the organization has to manage the database. The database
runs via virtual machine on the IT department.

The Database as a Service (DBaaS) is a service which is based upon the fee is called
the subscription service. The database runs on the service provider’s machine in this.
Physical infrastructure of the database is maintained by the service provider but the
database content and operations are managed by the customer itself.
In spite of subscription service cloud model, a managed hosting is also available. In
this, the complete database management and operations are managed by the service
provider only. It is very beneficial for the small businesses and this is the best choice
for Bruce also.
In managed hosting, the customer does not require anything like IT infrastructure etc.
Most companies are providing the cloud database like Google. The Google is the best
cloud database provider. The cloud database on Google can be created by following
ways-
- Go to Cloud SQL instances on Google cloud console.
- Select instance.
- Create new database on Database tab.
Benefits of Cloud Database
There are so many benefits of Cloud database. The best choice for Bruce is the
Database as a Service (DBaaS). There are so many benefits of DBaaS like below-
IT infrastructure not required
There is no requirement of IT infrastructure as the complete database will be managed
by the service provider and the customer does not take any tension about database
maintenance or staff for database maintenance etc. it is very good small businesses.
Performance guarantee
There is performance guarantee in the database as the service providers hire lot of
efficient database experts. Sometimes companies do not have so much database
experts, in this type of situations the DBaaS is the best choice for the companies.
Backup support
In typical database systems, the database developers have to take the database backup
on regular basis. In case of data loss, the database backup is required. If the DBaaS is
being used, there is no need of worry. The service provider takes the backup.
Latest Technology
The cloud database is the latest technology. Companies are changing their traditional
database and using the cloud database. it has so many good and new features that are
not provided in the traditional databases.

Specialized Experts
In DBaaS, the complete database management is done by the service providers. The
customer does not require hiring database experts as the complete database
management is done by the service providers.
Low Price
Because of market competition, the service providers are diminishing their prices.
This is the main reason of the companies to migrate the database on the cloud as the
low price budget and lots of facilities are given on the cloud.
No Security Issues
The companies who migrate their databases on cloud does not need to think about the
security of the databases as it is handled by the service providers and they use latest
technology for database service. Database security is very critical task in the database
but by using the cloud database, companies are free.
