Project Objectives
• The objectives of the CMP project are indicated as follows-
 To implement a web system that will be capable of performing
the essential functions which include student administration and
course management
To complete the project within 17 September 2020
To secure funding of the project from Enterprise Singapore

project is indicated in the project

• The priority Matrix indicate that the
time allocated for the project is the
major constraint
• The scope of the project can be
enhanced by effective project planning
• Any changes in the cost of project is
needed to be accepted since the time
allocated for the project cannot be
compromised.

Changes in Schedule
• Changes in the project schedule is
observed in CMP project.
• If the project is scheduled without
considering the issue of resource over-
allocation, it was possible to complete
the project within 16 September
• However, while solving the problem of
resource allocation the end date of the
project changed to 29 September.

• However, the project could not be
delayed that further and hence project
was accelerated
• To accelerate the project, certain
changes in the resources are made.
• As a result the end date of the project is
accelerated to 18 September 2020

Contributing Events
• The main contributing event to the
schedule changes that are observed in
the CMP project is the problem of
resource over-allocation .
• The changes in the schedule is observed
while trying to level the resource.
• The need of accelerating the project
further contributed to changes in
schedule

Cost Overrun
• Cost overrun in a project can occur due
to unexpected incurred cost
• There were certain cost overrun in the
project
• The cost overrun was associated with
increase in the duration of the activity of
Software Development
• Also, there was an unexpected increase
in the network cable cost and cost of
computer system

Contributor of Cost
Overrun
• The main contributor of cost overrun
was increase in the duration of a
particular activity
• The increase in the material cost further
added to the problem of cost overrun
• Incorporation of ad hoc admin and temp
engineer for substituting PM and Siti
further resulted in a marginal cost
overrun in the project

Lesson Learnt
• The successful execution of any project
is subjected to development of an
effective and feasible project plan.
• It is quite integral to correctly set the
project priorities to develop a realistic
project plan
• Resource over allocation problem in a
project are needed to be solved to
ensure successful project execution

Suggestion
• On basis of the ECA report developed,
the following suggestions can be made
for future projects-
It is necessary to keep a contingency
plan for managing the resource risks in
a project
Project crashing process can be
implemented to accelerate similar
projects in future
