Leadership structure
The leadership structure followed by Coca-Cola includes a chain where professionals
belonging to high level communicate to the lower level professionals through a medium. The
leadership structure starts with the chief executive officer who is responsible for reporting to
board of directors along with running the business based on the objectives and direction that
has been set by the board of directors (Baker, 2015). The chief operating officer is
responsible to communicate with the CEO and hence manages operations that are carried out
within the organization, looking after the production, administrative as well as legal
departments and marketing. The chief financial officer further communicates with the CEO
and hence handles the economy of the organization, treasury functions, overseeing
accounting and many more.
Effect of leadership history in culture
The leadership history has numerous effects on Coca-Cola’s culture, one of the effect
includes the change in vision of the organization. The visionary leadership style that is
followed by the organization has helped in bringing about changes within the vision of the
organization. The vision consists of 6 P’s. These P’s include portfolio, people, planet,
partners, productivity and profit. The organization lives within its values of collaboration,
leadership, integrity, passion, accountability, quality and diversity (Northouse, 2015). It
believes in focusing on market for the purpose of achieving the vision that has been set by the
organization. The leadership style had also resulted in bringing about changes within the
organizational structure. The organization believes in rule as well as delegate and not just
taking the responsibilities.

The leadership style followed by Coca-Cola include innovative leadership and cross
cultural leadership. The innovative leadership involves the concept of generation,
implementation and evaluation. With the existence of the roots in the theory of path-goal, the
theory of leader member exchange along with the increased requirement for effective as well
as innovative ways for motivating, leading and empowering, various leaders within Coca-
Cola had followed the leadership style of innovative leadership. The CEO makes use of the
fivefold agenda which makes the approach of the professionals a creative way for developing
the organization. CEO expects the employees to be innovative and use their creative ideas
into the operations of the organization. In Coca-Cola the cross cultural leadership is
effectively used by numerous regional chairmen (Shetty, 2014). The chairman is responsible
for undertaking various decisions for around 36 predominant markets in this particular
organization. The regional decisions are undertaken by regional chairman as well as board
instead of the global board.
