This source is about the Network Attached Storage (NAS) and evaluation of the future of this technology with the growing popularity of other storage devices. This article is selected because it is a peer-reviewed article in which details regarding IT storage technology, especially information regarding NAS is given. This article analysed the NAS in basic terms, and it also evaluated the potential future of this technology due to advancement in technology. This article provides that NAS is simply about storing data by parties while using a specific method which allowed the parties to make sure that their data is available to their clients through their network. It is referred to a general term; however, there are various technologies which go within this technology for this article. The article highlighted that the NAS had become advance due to technological development which is not used as a data storage mechanism in order to connect specific devices with one another and directly connecting them to a particular network. As per this technology, these devices are connected through an IP addressed, which allowed them the clients to access the data via the server, which acts as the gateway. There are various benefits of using this technology, including centralised connection, access to data of clients, backup of data and secured connection. This resource is useful since it highlighted the impact of future advancement of technologies on the NAS along with its benefits.
