PORTFOLIO_2: Reflective Writing
Interviews can be a part of a positive as well as a negative experience which may carry a lot of
learning in both the aspects. Scoring in an interview can feel like a huge deal but there are certain
trick points which can assist in clearing a successful interview. There are certain questions that
can be tricky while some just need mental presence and attention to be attempted. In my past
negative experiences, the most unenthusiastic was of not able to answer the simplest questions
that just needed some sort of soft skills to attempt. The questions were certainly confusing and
critical to be answered which made my interview slightly tough but the lessons that I learnt from
this negative interview were worth it (Mathrick, et. al, 2017).
The skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, adaptability, critical thinking and work
ethic are very much crucial and helpful at the time of interview. The skills can lead to crack a
fruitful interview but the most important term is utilizing this skills at the most appropriate
circumstances. There are various other skills that I practised over time which also assisted me to
compete in the interview. I gained learning about the ways in which I needed to answer such
kind of typical questions so that the interviewer can get knowledge about the skills and
competencies that I possess. The situation that was making me curious was of the way in which
interviewer was continuously changing the question completely. The solution that I best thought
for the situation was of sticking to a single particular question and then answering it in a tricked
way so that the interviewer gets the right answer but also gets confused at the same time.
The positive outcome of the situation was that the interviewer got the answers that he desired and
appreciated me for them but also at the same time the negative aspect was of the way in which I
answered the question. The different thing that I could do at the next time is by adopting the new
ways of answering the questions by enhancing my communication skills. The best ways to
enhance the communication skills is by constantly practising the most frequent questions that are
asked in the interviews so that I could get comfortable with the ways of answering the questions.
The most important things that I learned from the interview was that preparation is the key to
solve the interviews and sometimes it's just a bad day and I should just get back to the
preparations for enhancing my skills so that I could get selected on the next interviews. The
positive impacts were the learning's that I gained and the negative impact was that I certainly lost

my confidence for not being able to clear the interview and for enhancing my confidence I
started staying away from the negative things, changed body language and I created a great list
for the most possible ways to succeed in the next interviews (O'Neill and Rehfeldt, 2017).

There can be some serious issues with completing the assignment by utilizing the ghostwriters.
This kind of academic misconduct may lead to negative learning of the students and the
pessimistic impact on their studies as well as the career. It would be a tough task for me to
choose between the friends and good grades but as per the Australian Computer Society (ACS),
and its Code of Ethics it is vital for me to follow the rules and tell the teacher about the
individuals and how they take the assistance of ghostwriters for completing their assignments.
The code of ethics of ACS such as honesty and competence will be followed by me in this
situation but the concern is that I will be losing my friends who have been a part of my college
life from certain past years. It is necessary to get good grades in the examination so that I could
concentrate on my professional life and work towards enhancing it.
Leaving friends behind could be a tough and wrong decision but as per the situations of the
career decisions in the Central Queensland University. I would be indicating the elements and
the ways in which I could provide a hint to the teachers about the misconduct so that without any
use of my name I could stop the issue of negative writing methods that they utilize for getting
higher grades. The code of ethics of professionalism says that one can only enhance the integrity
of the society and uplift it in the different ways by becoming a responsible member of the society
which could only be possible by first being an honest person. It would be impossible for me to
get a decent job without securing good grades.
It is very much vital for me to go through the flow but leaving friends behind is a tough option
which will lead to the issues of trust which they have upon me. Being a trustful person is also a
part for the code of ethics which could lead to certain disruptions if not followed in the future
planning’s and working with big organizations (Riek and Howard, 2014). But it is also crucial to
stay honest in the terms of presenting the work and assignments for the university. I was in a
continuous conflict with myself for choosing friends or grades. Telling the teacher about their
misconduct could lead to lower marks of my friends but it will eventually be profitable for them
in future terms as if they start completing their work on their own they will enhance their own
knowledge which would lead to improvement in their performance in future terms. The code of
ethics such as professional development and the primacy of the public interest would lead to a

better way for striving and enhancing the quality of the individuals that are affecting by my
work.

1. Describe an example where you used listening and verbal communication skills effectively
There are various ways in which communication and listening skills that would be assisting me
in developing a greater personality. In professional terms, it is vital to have the listening skills
and the verbal communication skills so that I can present in a great way. It is crucial to have
listening skills as they assist in getting information and responses from the individuals working
along. If I won’t be able to listen properly and would just communicate the information that I
want to other members would just feel unethical and bad which would decrease my performance
drastically.
The communication skills are also crucial to possess as without effective communication it won’t
be possible to deliver the information to the other individuals. If the message is not
communicated effectually there can be a sense of misunderstanding and confusion which could
lead to negative outcomes. Having a good sense of communication skills and decent listening
skills help in eradicating the conflicts that arise in the surroundings. In the professional terms, I
used my communication skills for motivating the individuals and friends that stayed around me.
Even at the time of the interview, I utilized the communication skills for making the interview
great and assisting the interviewer in finding out my competencies and capabilities. In terms of
workplace, it is vital to have the communication skills as most of the work in an organization is
dependent on the effective communication (Senter, et. al, 2018).

2. How did you use reading skills to effectively develop an academic document? Provide an
example
I utilized reading skills for exercising my brain and generating knowledge. There are diverse
benefits of having a decent amount of reading skills. It is a symbol of a great leader. I had good
reading habits but it turned out to be more effectual in my professional workplace where I
needed to read all the reports and terms for the benefits of the business. At the time of job
interviews, it was vital for me to read all the necessary information about the company and
having a great amount of academic knowledge. Generating the habit of reading could lead to the
development of skills that are useful in the organization. The concentration was also increased
and I started focusing on my work. Reading also led to great exercise for the brain which uplifted
my performance and then it would enhance the working experience. Reading will be assisting in
generating current and other knowledge’s that are required for being in such a competitive world
(Ganguly, 2017).

Working in a team is even more vital for me as it will enhance my skills and develop the ways in
which I could learn from other individuals that will be working with me on the team. Being a
team player would lead to the development of efficient skills and better completion of tasks with
certain qualities that are necessary for completing the work. These skills could be used in the job
research processes and other working situations. There are certain factors that I learned after
working effectively in a team such as trust which was developed among me and my team. Trust
should be present within each and every team as having trust will enable me to work with my
team in a better way.
Communication is also an interpersonal skill that is vital for engaging in the teamwork so that a
better relationship can be built among the team members and they could enhance their work
performance. There are certain rules of working in a team and some of them that I learnt where
of a shaper, implementer, coordinator, evaluator, specialist and a team member most importantly.
There are various roles that I need to fulfill at the time of completing the tasks in a team which
makes the tasks more perfect and also assist in uplifting the motivation of working in a team. The
teamwork skills that I learnt where such as decision making, problem-solving, feedback and
conflict resolution (Silverman, et. al, 2016).

understand ethical behaviours, and/or social, privacy and legal aspects of the ICT domain.
The unit that taught me about the ethics and privacy with all the legal aspects was when I had to
notify the teacher about the unethical behaviour of my friends where it was vital for me to find
out the ways in which my friends were completing their assignments utilizing the ghostwriters
and getting higher grades then me. All the privacy and the legal aspects that I learned where very
much helpful in finding out the ways in which I could resolve the issues of copying assignments.
The decision that I took at the situation showed the behaviour that I possessed for completing the

teacher to use certain software's and methods through which they could identify whether the
assignment is original or not. There are various ethical aspects that I should fulfill such as

Having staff from diverse backgrounds, cultures and environment could lead to certain problems
in the terms of communication and other behaviours. The thinking ability and the choices of
different individuals vary from me which also affected the performance of the team. The
qualities that the diversity was used by me in a positive way as the ways in which other think
could lead to the development of unique ideas which will benefit the team. I was able to learn
various skills and methods to make quick decisions from the individuals that were having
different backgrounds. There are certain concerns and disputes between the people from different
backgrounds as the individuals could lead to negative impacts on the decisions of the individuals.
The decision-making process got simpler as there were the bulk amount and quality views from
the staff members with different backgrounds.

There are various communication and collaboration tools that could be utilized in the
organization for completing certain tasks. Collaboration leads to the task of working together for
the same purpose. There are diverse critical features and capabilities that are required in the
organization. The tools for collaboration that were utilized by me in the organization were BOX
which has been becoming a great pain to the position which is simpler than the storage of data on
the websites. Collaborating communication with technology could lead to the proper transfer of
information from one individual to another which would eradicate the misunderstandings
between the staff members. FLEEP, SKYPE and TIBBER are the tools that utilized for the
purpose of communicating with others. The selection of the tool could be implemented in the
organization by making the work of communication in an easier format. The tools of
communication could lead to uplifted communication and collaboration within the workplace
(Cheung and Weber, 2015).
