INTRODUCTION
Health and Social care is defined as the services which are available from the health and
social care providers which are situated in UK (Buse and et.al., 2018).
Thus, the report will analyse effective — team working in health and social care and how
it contributes to person-centred care. Along with this, Belbin Self-Perception Inventory will also
be described and what will be learned from exercise will also be known and evaluated in
effective manner. Personal SWOT analysis will be evaluated and framed which will help in
understanding my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. It will also reflect in report
that will be learned about myself while being a team member and contributing my role in health
and social care setting. My own experience as a team member in health and social care setting
will be identified and analysed in positive manner. Within the report, health and social care
setting will be given importance.

2. Effective team-working in health and social care and how does it contribute to the delivery of
person-centred care
Effective teamwork is an essential tool for creating the system more patient-centred. Teamwork
improves productivity which creates a mindset of healthcare leaders to improve and guide their
staffs to provide better services and attention to the clients. Health care providers who work as a
team are more creative and responsive towards the changes. Providing effective team-work to the
patients can make them more satisfied with the health care system (Kinsella and et.al., 2020).
Patients experience less stress and more satisfaction when the members of the team are fulfilling
their duties.
An effective team in health care industry is what includes the patients, staff, doctors and
every person who can be concerned to provide better service. Teams have their respective roles
and responsibilities which have to be fulfilled. Every team member is definably accountable for
the actions of the team (Moudatsou and et.al., 2020). The perfection of the team is dependent
upon the performance of each team member. Communication plays an important role to improve
the team work. Constructive leadership is one of the main key elements of effective team
working. This kind of healthcare teams can be quoted as the foundation of every successful
healthcare organization because team co-ordination is one of the vital requirements of every

healthcare industry. The talent of each member of the team is contributed to the team's work
efficiency.
Team members are being provided with special knowledge and skills. The staff of the
organization after teaming up can share their knowledge with each other which can be beneficial
for the patient as well as the organization. For inspiring the team members, leaders also take best
step to make the teamwork more efficient and effective. Effective healthcare leaders try their
best to train their team members for excellence and expertise in their work for providing the best
service to its patients (Pearson and et.al., 2018). Healthcare providers who are looking to adopt
the teaming up technique they are taking a step forward in creating a better healthcare system.
By having effective team working in the health and social care, the patients can rely on
them and can communicate with them by expressing their problems and issues which they are
facing in their health. The patients are taking concern of their health and the care is being
provided to them by the health and social care organizations. The effective team working
members in the health and social care are – doctors, nurses, physicians etc (Wankah and et.al.,
2018). They take care of the patients and provide them proper health benefits and medications at
proper schedules. Therefore, the patients get the most effective and reliable treatment from the
team members that are working in the health and social care organizations.
Person-centred care is basically focusing the best on a person's problems. In healthcare
industry it is delivers effectiveness by giving personal attention to a patient's health, needs and
desires (Santana and et.al., 2018). Team-working provides the patients more satisfaction by not
just treating the patient for the medical purpose only but by giving them emotional support too.
The health leaders assign a special team for a specific task or for a patient which provides the
patient full transparency and information. Patient is more comfortable with the team as the team
is willing to provide the best treatment and services to the patient.
Effective team-working also provides the patient emotional support and cheers them up
by giving them positive support. This teaming up technique helps in creating a patient friendly
environment on which the patient can trust. In hospitals teaming-up technique also helps in
creating strict visiting hours so that the health of the patient will be the centre of focus (Kadri and
et.al., 2018). The patient-centred care method creates a home-like environment for the patient so
that the patient is not uncomfortable in the hospital. The concept of the effective team-working
also helps the system by providing personal treatments and therapies to the patient.

By adopting effective team-working technique Person-centred care system is improving
itself by providing better service and treatments to the patients by assigning a team of workers
for the patient. Health care industry after adopting the teaming-up technique can evolve itself by
achieving new and big milestones (Haydon and et.al., 2018). The quality of care also improves
after implementing the technique of teaming-up. The approach is rising as it helps in providing
creativity and motivation for improving the system. This technique follows the same values and
principles as the person-centred care system.
Effective team working helps in person-centred care as it helps in acknowledging the
aspects of how to take care of the patients or person which need treatment and care. Having
effective team also helps in concerning the health aspects in a significant and effective manner.
The person-centred care helps in knowing that how the care is being taken of the person when
they are need. Proper care is being taken and this helps them to ensure that what are the roles and
responsibilities of the effective team while they are working to take care of the patients’ at large
scale (Wallström and et.al., 2018). The person-centred care is provided to the patients who are in
need and are ensuring that all measures and aspects of care are being taken consideration which
helps them in providing them care and medication. The health and social care organizations
concern the patients and the person to become more involved in taking concern of their health.
When the team works effectively, that is the doctors, nurses and physicians take care of the
patients and fulfil their needs and requirements while ensuring health and safety.
3. Completing Belbin Self — perception inventory and reflecting upon what is learned from the
exercise
Belbin self-perception inventory is the behaviour based questionnaire. The role I am playing is
that of the team worker.
Section 1 — What I believe I am able to contribute to the team
a) There are certain behaviour measures which I have learned.
b) I am able to understand and quickly seek and take advantages of new opportunities.
c) Along with this, I have also learned that I am able to work with very wide range of people.
d) I am also able to learn many things and contribute to the group while working effectively and
delivering my role as team worker (Flores-Parra and et.al., 2018).
e) I can sense what I am likely to work and how the work is being processes at large scale.

f) I have also analysed and sensed that I am able to produce ideas in an effective and significant
manner.
g) I can provide the case for the alternative courses of action which are to be fulfilled.
h) I am able to draw attention of people towards the work to which I find that the work can be
done in more effective way.
Section 2 — Possible weaknesses in team working
a) I have certain weaknesses which I have learned and analysed is that I have a possible
shortcoming while working in the team.
b) For the new ideas, I talk too much while working in the group.
c) I have observed that I am sometimes forceful and authoritarian when there is any kind of work
which is to be completed.
d) I have also analysed on major thing about myself that when I am caught up in ideas, I lose
track of time and do not understand what is happening.
e) Unless and until the meetings are scheduled, I do not feel that the work is going well-
structured and in controlled manner.
f) I am also inclined towards the generosity towards the other people.
g) My team members have observed that I am often seen as worrying over things and then I
overthink too much which makes me think that something might go wrong.
h) I have also learned that my objective outlook makes team working difficult sometimes.

4. Personal SWOT analysis and reflecting what is learned and also including own experience of
being team member in health and social care setting
Personal SWOT analysis is described as follows -
Strengths — My strengths are that there are certain capabilities which I hold be being in the
health and social care setting. My strength counts in the form that I am capable of contributing in
the team while working together.

Weaknesses — I often get bored while continuing the same work which makes difficult for me
to concentrate. I also find difficulty in working with people when they are not contributing with
the team in positive manner.
Opportunities — I gain lot of opportunities which are there while working in the team. I also
got the opportunity of finding new ideas and exploring them for better and effective work which
I displayed in the team while working together (Teoli and et.al., 2019).
Threats — There are certain threats to me which has affected my working in the team. The
threat which I faced was that My work in contributing to team seemed to be more in precise and
not in detail manner which created problems and issues to me. This affected my performance by
being a team member.
My experience while working with team in health and social care setting was very
significant. I had learned many new things which helped me in knowing that I was able to deliver
positive role in working together. I was also able to manage my work and deliver my role
effectively by collaborating on different working systems and through this, I was able to provide
valuable behaviour and there were changes which were also observed in my behaviour. I became
more of a calm and positive person while effectively contributing to team. I had also learned and
evaluated that I am able to complete my work on time.
By working with other team members, I have also gained some qualities from them as
well as how to be positive in doing the work and performing responsibilities (Benzaghta and
et.al., 2021). This helped me in knowing aspects as to how effectively and in appropriate manner
I was able to complete my work on time in health and social care setting. I had also observed that
there were major concerns as to how effectively and in appropriate manner I am delivering my
role while working in the team along with other members. I have also learned that how to be
patient in difficult situations.
CONCLUSION
Thus, it is concluded from above report that effective — team working in health and
social care was described effectively and it helped in contributing to person-centred care. Along
with this, Belbin Self-Perception Inventory was also described and what was learned from
exercise was also known and evaluated in an effective and efficient manner. Personal SWOT
analysis was being evaluated and framed which helped in understanding my strengths,

weaknesses, opportunities and threats. It was also reflected in report that was being learned about
myself while being a team members and contributing my role in health and social care setting.
My own experience as a team member in health and social care setting was being identified and
analysed in an effective and positive manner. Within the report, health and social care setting
was given importance which helped in knowing importance of care given to the person and role
of team member.
