AI Summary
This research report delves into the concept of ontology, highlighting its potential in improving information management and organization. The study addresses the complexities of ontology generation, mapping, and maintenance, supported by a survey that examines the current state of the art in these areas. The researcher proposes solutions and analyzes the InfoSleuth system, which automates ontology generation. The report discusses the reusability of ontologies and the need for further research, particularly in relation to abstraction and reusability. It also mentions various ontology design principles and the effectiveness of the InfoSleuth method in extracting relevant documents. Despite challenges like syntactic ambiguity, the research contributes to understanding ontology design and its practical applications.

PART 3
Research Report
The research paper discusses the concept of ontology that is an emerging concept. It has a
potential in improving the management of the information and organization in different
operations. The research further discusses the different issues associated with the ontology
generation, its mapping and its maintenance. Ontology itself is a bit complex and multi
disciplinary process that extracts knowledge of information organization. In order to evaluate the
complexity of the topic, the researcher has performed a survey. The said survey was carried out
majorly in two parts that include the state of the art survey of ontology generation and state of
the art survey for ontology mapping and ontology evolving. In order to address the problem, the
researcher had proposed the survey. The survey result says that there exist large scale ontologies,
however, there is a need for constructing the knowledge base and ontology for a particular task
and a particular domain. The different nethods of generating ontology could be summarized.
The researcher has worked for InfoSleuth, a research at MCC. This technology works for
the development and deployment of new technologies and focuses on the issues associated with
ontology, its problem of locating and evaluation. The method that is used for this is generation of
ontology and adopted in Info Sleuth in an automatic manner.
In the survey of ontology generation, the results suggest that the researches are related to
the semi automatic or automatic ontology generation. The proposed solution is that the ontology
can be easily reused. The research proves that there are certain things to be done in the area of
ontology. The outcome of the paper is that there are a number of the process of extraction of
relation is very complex and is difficult to resolve. However, further researches have to be done

in this field in order to find the efficient ways of solving the problem associated with the same.
Since ontologies are highly reusable, other forms of ontologies can be easily lifted off to provide
the particular application domains that are specific. It is essential to execute further researches in
the field of mainly because of the generation of abstraction and reusability. A number of tools
can be used to create to facilitate the generation of ontology in a manual and also in a semi
automatic manner.
The researcher mentions various basic and general ontology design perinciples as well.
The design principle defines a number of theories including theory of wholes, theory of identity
and dependence theory. The research method of InfoSleuth is quite effective that explores the
human expert in providing the system having a smaller seedwords number. The InfoSleuth
system processes the incoming documents and extracts the documents that are contained in the
seedwords. This process has considerably helped in finding answers to the research problem.
However, there are certain problems, that have been faced which include syntactic structural
ambiguity, reorganization of the different phrases and word sense problems. However, the
research could get an answer to the research problem and the approach od making use of the
survey was proved to be justified for the research.
