INTRODUCTION
Collective strategy is the organizational attempt to manage their inter dependence by
sustaining contractual for the competitive interconnections and making the particular
endogenous social environment. Collective strategy is used by the companies to give their
effort toward the collaborating with the people and other organization. It has huge benefits to
the company, and they can take competitive advantages in the market where they are operating
their business and show their presence as an emerging brand. Every business requires different
types of strategies to grow and develop. The requirement of strategy depends nature and types of
business and market conditions. Also, it is important to identify stakeholders needs as well in
developing strategy. This is because any change in their needs impact on strategy. basically,
strategy is divided into many types that is tactic, strategic operational, etc.
This report will cover IKEA company for their case study. It is multinational group who
used to sell the ready meant assembled Furniture, home appliances, kitchen appliances goods
and services to the customers. This company has presence in all over the world and more than
400 locations. More than 210000 employees are currently working for the IKEA group and
helping them to gain success in their business (Abrosimov and Mochalkin., 2018).
This report will discuss about the collective strategy of the IKES company including the
Political , social and operational needs for the common strategies between the organization and
administration. It will also analyze and evaluate the factors which has huge influence on the
collective strategies of the company. It will also include policy and strategic issues and factors
influence like Social, cultural and religious etc. In the end of this report will lead to pro0cess
of developing and formulating the collective strategy. It will also include the Aim and objective
of this strategy and importance of support from the Stakeholders in collective strategy.

Philosophical approach – it is an approach which state that on basis of one’s personal view the
nature of organisation strategy is developed. It means that strategy is based on reason,
experience, etc and can be influenced with numerous factors. So, when there is change in
personal factor it can highly impact on strategy. In this goals and objective formed are changed.
Here, personal factor are perception, vision, etc. thus, entire strategy is based on philosophy.
Moreover, it affect on organisation as strategy is changed. Likewise, collective change is
impacted due to it (Berthet, . and Hickey, , 2018).
Organisational approach- in this approach the main thing is strategy is broken down into
different activities and then overall goals and objectives are attained. Thus, strategy is developed
on basis of entire aims and objectives. Thus, it is directly related to strategy which makes it easy
evaluate what things are to be done and how. Hence, it affect on IKEA and collective change.
This is because if overall strategy is modified then it is difficult to make collective change. As
the approach is entirely based on strategy thus various tasks are to be done in it. The strategy is
based on different operations. For each one there is break down of strategy in it. Hence, this
affect on collective change as there is no proper integration of all strategy in it.
Methodological- as name depicts it state that the approach followed is developing strategy in
systematic way. So, here, strategic planning or management is applied. It is procedures by which
an organization defines its current status, opportunities, long-term goals, and the strategies for
which to achieve them. The aim is to force a look into the future, and, therefore, provides
an opportunity to influence the future, to provide better awareness of needs and environment
and to help define and focus on the objectives of the organization; to provide a sense of
direction, continuity, and effective leadership and to incline everyone into the system and
provides standards of accountability for people and allocated resources. The techniques to be
used is not perceived as a systematic procedure but is continuously repeatable and depends on
the characteristics of individual case. So, it affect on IKEA as there are to be change in goals of
collective change. in this strategic management concept is not followed. There need to make

change in leadership style, direction, resource, etc where all things required different aspect.
Apart from it, many factors are considered here in it that affect on organisation. So, these are
ignored in strategic management. Besides, plans may be developed for short term (Galamba, .
and Nielsen, 2016).
Therefore, these all has to be analysed in depth as use of approach in it affect on
collective change. Also, in philosophical approach change is based on personal factors thus no
other areas are considered in it. Similarly, in organisation one change is done on perspective of
organisation. In this as well collective change is not focused. Besides, methodological one
emphasis on systematic planning that has to be effective.
CONCLUSION
Hereby, it is concluded that collective strategy is an effort by organization to manage their
inter dependence by substituting contractual for competitive inter connection and developing an
endogenous social environment. Likewise, IKEA also developed this strategy that focused on
how gaining competitive advantage by reducing dependence on suppliers and inter depending. It
is necessary for the IKEA company to follow the polices related to the government. So, taxes
are one of them. The collective strategy within the IKEA company are developed and evolved
on the basis of different factors. Internal practices include HRM marketing & sales and other
operations and external factors such as, Legal, political social etc. There are many opportunities
for their future development like global expansion, product development, and others. collective
strategy is also influenced by several policies and issues like health and safety, social issue, etc.
along with different factors as well that are political, global, media impact and many others.
Strategic intelligence plays vital role in development of strategy. It is designed for purpose of
making specific decisions for long term and enables in support of overall firm objectives. It is
also summarized that original knowledge consists of info about current strategies, competitive
environment , etc. there is difference between purpose of organization and collective strategy. In
organisation it depends on nature and scope of organization and its mission and vision whereas
it is developed for various purpose such as increasing operational efficiency, gain competitive
advantage, create social environment. Also, organization purpose is developed for both short and
long term while in collective strategy purpose is defined for long term rather than short term.
