INTRODUCTION
 World Heritage site, some of the different sites or things listed on
the National Register Of historic places of the United Nations
Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
 In this representation select Colosseum in Italy history which
was constructed as part of an imperial endeavour to revive Rome
during the turbulent year from the fourth emperor, 69 CE.
 In this presentation consist of reason of selecting this place and
history of selected place.

UNDERSTANDING WORLD
HERITAGE SITE
 A World Heritage Site is a landmark or region that has been
legally designated as such by a treaty obligations maintained
by the United Nations Academic, Technological, and
Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
 Historical, ecological, and mixed-use settings are the three
categories. Hundreds of historic structures and municipal
monuments, notable archaeological sites, and colossal
sculpture and art are all examples of cultural heritage sites.

that is regionally and culturally recognized, as well as
having specific ethnic or natural importance.

SELECTING COLOSSEUM IN
ITALY HISTORY
 The Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre,
was a massive pavilion erected in Rome during the reign of
the Flavian kings. Throughout Vespasian's rule, building on
the Colosseum began between 70 and 72 CE.

 Colosseum is a standalone stone and concrete building with
a sophisticated structure of pointed arches and groyne vaults
that measures 620 by 513 feet (189 by 156 metres)
altogether.
 The amphitheater could seat 50,000 people and was shaded
from the sunlight by a huge continuous velarium.

WHY SELECTING THIS
PLACE
 The Colosseum is Rome's most recognisable landmark. It is a
massive structure with about 2,000 years of tradition that will
transport you backwards in history to experience the manner of
living in the Roman Republic.
 The building of the Colosseum started from the year 72 even
during reign of Emperor Vespasian and was completed in the
year 80 even during rule of Emperor Titus. With a circumference
of 188 metres, a breadth of 156 metres, and an elevation of 57
metres after completed, the Colosseum had become the largest
Roman amphitheatre.

It was the largest structure of its kind, and it had the following
characteristics:
 four narratives
 an elevation of 45 metres (150 feet).
 189 x 156 metres in width
 a circular arena with dimensions of 87.5 m x 54.8 m
 a canvas-roofed awning
 a maximum occupancy of 50,000 people

CONCLUSION
Local businesses are typically boosted by World Heritage
listings because they encourage tourism. The Colosseum
was involved in the construction of an imperial endeavour
to revive Rome during the turbulent year of the fourth kings,
69 CE. The king Vespasian wanted the Colosseum, like
other concert halls, to be a place of amusement, staging
gladiator bouts, wildlife chases, and even fake naval
warfare.
