1. Introduction
The notable determination of this report is to focus on the social, legal, ethical as well
as the cultural implications associated with the use of social networking sites such as
Facebook which is increasingly used for both personals as well as commercial purposes
(Zhang and Leung 2015). This report shall be focussing on an issue which might be faced by
the users of the social networking sites, at the same time the strength and weakness regarding
the use of these social networking sites shall also be evaluated in this report.
The latest development in the field of IT has resulted in the growth of many new IT
innovations such as the social networking platforms, mobile computing devices such as the
smartphones and laptops (Yang, Zhang and Qu 2016). According to the current trends, there
are numerous commercial applications which are being used by the businessman and the
other stakeholders of the supply chain.
These IT innovations have both positive as well as negative impacts on the users
which shall be evaluated in this report in an organized manner. According to Xiang et al.
(2017), IT innovations have a direct impact on optimising the business operations in a global
industry, whereas there numerous ethical considerations which are associated with these IT
innovations in terms of the compromise of privacy of the users. The paper highlighted that
there are other categories of ethical implications which shall be evaluated in this report.
The strength as well as the weakness of these IT innovations must be understood in
the first place so that the ethical considerations are addressed in an organized manner. This
report shall also be very much useful to understand the effectiveness of the growth of social
networking platforms. The following discussion of this report shall be very much useful to

There are different categories of social issues which are associated with the
deployment of the social networking platforms as well as the website based applications
which are used for commercial purpose such as cyberbullying which are generally conducted
by the ethical hackers as well as the social engineers (Berger, De Stefani and Oriola 2016).
There are number of third parties who are directly involved in cyber bullying incidents, as a
result of cyber bullying a huge amount of money in the form of bitcoins can be extracted
from the users.
Cyber buying is one of the most common issues which are faced by the users of the
social networking channels as well as the commercial applications which are used in this
business (Townsend and Wallace 2016). There is only one positive or benefit associated with
this issue which is the bully may feel better about themselves after they bullied someone in
the social networking sites. Self-satisfaction is the only positive associated with this issue.
Cyber criminals may feel overwhelmed after the conduction of a cyber-bullying incident. The
social engineers or the ethical hackers who are involved in this issue might feel very much
powerful.
On the other hand, there are numerous negative impact regarding this issue in terms of
the anxiety, fatigue and depression for the users. There are other undesirable impacts of using
social networking platforms such as the loss of interest in education or any other daily
activity, self- harm and eating disorders. The younger sections of the society are very much
vulnerable to the cyber bullying incidents and it has to be managed in the first place in order
to maintain the progress of our society (Sloane et al. 2015). The victims of this issue may
