OBJECTIVE AND BACKGROUND
a) Description of communication audit process
A Communication audit process is carried out on organizations for the purpose of evaluating and
assessing the effectiveness of communication tools and channels used both internally and
externally through this process strengths and shortcomings of the communication channels and
tools are identified and recommendations are given.an effective communication is crucial to the
success of the organization in the target market dominance. There are four steps for completion
of the audit process they include;
i. The communication has to identify the communications channels that an organization
currently uses
ii. Data gathering is conducted through interviews of all audiences such as employees and
also the management teams
iii. The data collected is now evaluated and assessed, key patterns are identified while
drawing a report on the same.
iv. Strength and weakness are identified and solutions for amending the shortcomings are
identified.

v. Implementing the solutions identified to curb the shortcomings of the communication
channels in the organization.
