INTRODUCTION
Business communication is a process of sharing ideas and information between
individual within and outside an organization (Karale., 2020). Effective business communication
is all about how management and employees interact each other to reach organizational goals.
University of Greenwich is one of the top university of UK, located in London and Kent, UK.
This report will highlight two leaflets related to the common challenges and barriers of
communication, and also includes some effective strategies for overcoming such barriers.
Moreover, this report also illustrated some theories of organizational communication and
evaluate some barriers preventing. This report will also involve the strategies and their
implementation to overcome communication barriers.

Leaflets
Business communication is a process of sharing ideas and information between
individual within and outside an organization (Karale., 2020). Effective business communication
is all about how management and employees interact each other to reach organizational goals.

This report will highlight two leaflets related to the common challenges and barriers of
communication, and also includes some effective strategies for overcoming such barriers.
Moreover, this report also illustrated some theories of organizational communication and
evaluate some barriers preventing. This report will also involve the strategies and their

General theories of the organizational communication
Organizational communication can be defined as a form and channels of communication
in which company such as non-profits, corporate , government bodies engage, involving both
external communication and internal communication (Downs, DeWine, and Greenbaum., 2020).
External communication means communication between a company and their stakeholders
whereas internal communication means communication that occur within the organization. Good
organization communication helps company to builds trust with the people within the
organization which boosts engagement. Some more benefits of organization communication such
as it acts as fuels to innovation, improve productivity, improve public relation, builds culture of
trust and teamwork etc. There are some organizational communication theories as follows:
Weber's classic organizational theory: this theory has six principle such as rules based
management, impersonal, a formal hierarchical structure, up focused or in focused mission,
employment based on the technical qualification and functional speciality organization. This is
basic for systematic formation of the organization and it is design to make sure economy
effectiveness and efficiency (Kvachev., 2019). This theory holds that company have clearly
defied responsibilities and roles, thus communication is clear, hierarchical and structured. There
is no gap or scope in messages being sent from the top-level of management and hence company
have fixed machine. In this structure the company tasks must be divided between the employees.
This creates formal communication between the employees. All rules, regulation, behaviours and
decision are recorded in this type of theory. This communication and information will share in
terms of chain of command so every thing is accounted and documented.
Taylor's scientific management theory: scientific management is a production centered
perspective and management oriented of organization communication. Taylor believed that the
reasons of organization failed was due to fact that there is lacked successful systematic
management. Taylor did not feel a need to create rapport between workers, rather, Taylor felt
that the managers needed to communicate in the proper manner and clear cut manner.
Deetz's managerialism theory: the evolution of company models and structure over the years
has caused theories that reflect the changing in company norms. This theory is attempt to define
how the organization control and organization communication happens in the businesses where

students are not want to do classes in offline mode as they live far away and do not want to travel
and spent long time to attend the classes.
Administration barriers : The students get frustrated when they do not know when and how to
contact teacher or mentor. They may get discouraged if they do not know the progress in their
courses or of their expectation are not effectively communicated.
Motivational barriers : students may face distraction when completing online courses, or they
feel comfortable in online mode education, so they are less motivate to come back to campus.
This is one of the major barriers that University face.

of community of scholars. They use induction programmes so each and every student know their
class mate, so they easily connected with them. For example, in a class student tell about them so
its easily way to start conversion. Social media can be helpful to engage students in their content,
so they can share their resources easily.
