Running Head: COMMUNICATION CULTURE IN H&R BLOCK
Introduction
H& R Block is a tax consulting firm operating with 1200 offices in India, USA, Australia,
and Canada. This company is rooted in the USA and expanded its wings in Canada and
Australia with an intention to cater to the clients that have business operations in multiple
countries. The relevance of this company increased multiple folds after the arrival of
globalization when multinational companies started operating in multiple countries and
international brands came in existence to cater to a cosmopolitan population (Holllen, 2018).
This company has a vast experience in taxation related issues and they have a dedicated
working force working in this direction. These teams are in constant touch with each other to
settle international taxation related issues. In the current assignment, we are exploring the
communication culture of this organization and explaining that it how this culture is giving it
the USP of being an international taxation firm.
The need for the Diversity awareness in an organization
Cross-cultural conflicts in the communication have the power to create communication gaps
that can become information gaps and invite certain consequences and the losses. The basic
principle of the diversity awareness says that if the other person is different from you then it
never means that he is wrong. He is different; he lives in a different culture and climate. H &
R Block recently launched software in the USA, this software enables an end user to file a
return (Stanger, 2018). This universalization of the services never means that the job of tax
consultancy is easy. It has its own share of challenges and sometimes informal
communication comes as the last resort for the employees of this company.
