COMMUNICATION PLAN
1. Introduction
A communication plan can be referred to as a significant policy driven approach that helps to
provide significant information. Organizational stakeholders gain this type of information and hence
proper information is required to be delivered and which communication channels are required for
delivering that specific information [4]. An effective communication plan can anticipate on the type
of information that is required to be communicated to the specified audience segments. The
following report outlines a brief discussion on the communication plan for the case study of
Improving Public Health Informatics. The County Health Department or CHD has made a strategic
plan for specifying their incrementing capacities of program evaluation and response to major
communicable disease outbreaks [2]. For ensuring success they have made a communication plan
and this report discusses about the major effectiveness of this particular project.
2. Discussion
2.1 Assessment of the Current Project Communication Plan
The current project communication of the County Health Department is extremely effective
as it is referring to the various aspects of advantages that an integrated public health informatics
systems would be providing to the organization [6]. The project communication plan will be playing
an important and significant role in change management and an efficient communication strategy
could even help to break down resistance for changing by integrating all the patients’ confidential
data and information into one and not involving several information systems [7]. This is extremely
vital for engaging and endorsing the requirement of change as well as steps undertaken for bringing
the changes. The various strategies and objective of the integrated public health informatics are
included for setting clear and cohesive goals that are required to be attained. A proper process to
execute the process is also included in this particular communication plan. After following a
collaborative process, the project team is able to engage project stakeholders and hence
management of this particular system is possible without much complexity [2]. The requirements of
this particular project are well described to the stakeholders and thus implementation of business
rules would be much easier in comparison to other projects.
2.2 Comparing the Assessment with Sound Project Management Practices
The communication plan of this project can be compared with few project management
practices. Project management practices refer to the practices that are required for initiation,
planning, execution, controlling and finally closing of a team work for achievement of project
management and hence producing a complete project that strongly complies with every objective of
the respective client [8]. After assessing the current project communication plan of the County
