1. Role of sender and receiver in the communication process
In the communication process, the sender is responsible to input the information in
transmitter as well as receiver. It is responsible to receive the information and passed it on.
One way communication is being used to influence and provide direction to the project client.
Receiver of message has no capability to ask questions and validate the project understanding
and then provide feedback to sender (Santalova et al., 2018). Two-way communication is
meant to be used when the receiver can answer as well as direct message back to sender.
2. Potential communication barriers and consider to be serious
The communication barriers considered to be serious are:
Cultural barriers: In LaGuardia International Airport re-development work, various
stakeholders are involved in the project from people of various cultures. Therefore, it is
difficult to understand each other’s customs and result in inconveniences. It would also relate
to duties as well as performs of culture of person.
Interpersonal barriers: Due to lack of participation of the project stakeholders, it is not
possible to interact with someone those are involved in the project (Ghobadi & Mathiassen,
2016). The stakeholders have indirect association with the organization.
3. Overcoming of barriers
In order to overcome with language barriers, it is required to learn about different
cultures so that it becomes easier to communicate with each other. Learning about various
cultural background can stand-in workplace relationships.
In order to overcome with the interpersonal barriers, all the stakeholders should
involve in the project plan and contribute equally in the project planning (Sutter & Kieser,
2019).
