1) Communication models and systems
used in businesses
 Communication models can be described as a systematic process that
enables a business to communicate with its workers.
 There are a number of such communication models presented by different
intellectuals.
 For example- Arstotole Model, Berlo's Model, Shannon and Weaver
Model, Schramm's Model, Helical Model etc.

Communication system
 Communication system refers to the network which is taking place in a
communication. It can also be described as relay stations, tributary stations or
network, transmission system etc.
 In a business there may be a range of different communication systems. As per
requirement and suitability businesses abide with these systems. Internal
upward communication, internal downward, internal lateral, external etc. are
some of the most used communication systems in the businesses.

2) Communication methods and technology in businesses
 There are multiple communication methods which are used as per suitability and
requirements of businesses. The main methods are verbal, written, non-verbal, visual,
electronic methods.
 With the progress of technology there are multiple tools such as Email, WhatsApp,
Facebook, Google meet etc. are available.

Benefits of formal communication-
 Formal communication is well-structured.
 There is no issue of grapevine.
 It eradicates all those useless talks.
 The main aim of formal communication is to govern the business operations and authority.

Benefits of informal communication-
 Informal communication is flexible in nature.
 This helps employees and staff to be humble and making intensive bond.
 This is utterly free-form all types of unrequited and hectic formalities.

Use of technology in different types of
communication
 There are multiple types of communications in businesses. Where
different technologies are being used to make communication task
handy and barrier less.
 For verbal communication the handiest tool is cell phone, Bluetooth,
earphones, headphones etc. which incentivize verbal communication
and provide ease.
 For written communication, the same tools such as mobile phone,
laptop, tablet etc. are to be used.

3) Making communication effective
 Prominence of communication is getting hiked with the progress of time so there are
some principles to make communication effective.
 These principles are also known as 7C.

Communication barriers-
Communication barriers refer to the elements which topple the effectiveness of
communication and also mislead the sense of the message.
Written communication method may have these barriers-
 Using Jargon, means using sort of terms which is unknown to employees.
 Using technological terminologies.
Oral communication related barriers-
 Linguistic barriers such as inability for certain language.
 Lack of mutual trust may cause issues.

Non-verbal communication related barriers-
 Misconceptions among both sender and receivers.
 Lack of trust factor.
 Misinterpretation of the message.
Visual communication related barriers-
 There may be technological issues.
 External noise and mental status of employees may affect.
 If the used visuals are not appropriate, then employees would not be able to interpret
it.
