INTRODUCTION
Communication skills is stipulated as an ability to interact with another person.
Communication can be in multiple forms verbal, non-verbal, written and in many ways. This
report brief about the complete description in respect to the communication skills. All the models
that can be a crucial part in communication will be a part of this report. Methods of
communication is also a part of this report. An appropriate personal development plan will be
discussed in this report.

Theory of Communication
Communication plays the very crucial role in the organisational structure (Bi, Ho and
Zhang, 2015). All the aspects of communication can be stated as below.
Models of Communication: Models of communication can be described as below.
Shannon-Weaver Model : This model of communication channelise in a following way.
Sender: Sender can be denoted as the person who wish to send the message.
Encoder: Encoder understand the message of sender and forward it further.
Channel: Channel is the way through which message is transfer to the receiver.
Decoder: Decoder clarifies the whole message in understandable format for receiver of
the message.
Receiver: Receiver is stated as the person to whom message was sent earlier by the
sender.
Berlo Model: Berlo model of communication involve the following aspects.
Sender: Sender is the person who want to make the communication.
Message: Message is the format or content that a sender wants to send to the receiver.
Channel: Channel is the medium that used to transfer the message.
Receiver: Receiver is the person who ultimately receives the message.
Barnlund's Model: This model involves following aspects.

Source: Source is the origin of the message. Source can be denoted as the way to get the
all information in respect to the receiver.
Message: Message is the content that needs to be communicated with the receiver.
Channel: Channel is the medium that used to transfer the message to the receiver of the
message.
Receiver: Receiver is the person to whom message was sent by the sender.
Communication Systems: Corporate entities use various communication system that can be
stated as below.
Upward System: Upward system of communication flow the information in upward direction.
All the employee at bottom level use this system to interact with all the senior authorities in the
organisational structure (Fang and et.al., 2016). Employees at bottom level use this to interact
with the senior management in the organisation.
Downward System: Downward form of communication can be stated as the flow of information
in downward direction. Management in the company use this process to interact with all the
employees at lower level in the organization by using this communication system.
Communication can be done in written or verbal format or with the help of technology.
Lateral System: This involves the communication between the same level of employees in the
organisational structure. This involves written, oral or communication by email. Lateral
communication can be happened between two individuals or may be in between group of
peoples.
Communication Methods: Communication methods can involve following aspects.
Written Methods: Communication in written format included in this method of communication.
All the information is stated in writing format to convey the whole information (Fogel, 2017).
Written method of communication is a very old method that is used from so many years in the
organisational structure.
Verbal Communication: Verbal communication involve communication in oral form. Verbal
communication is a very fast method of communication that involve fast flow of information to
the receiver of the message. Verbal communication is done over calls or with the voice.
