1. How would you feel if you were living in either Community A or Community B?
I will be happy if I will be living in Community B as I can get everything I want for. I
believe that it does not require money in order to be rich but the next person. Such a
community inspires individuals to co-operate with each other and fetches community
to come together. A person can get assistance in the case of an emergency if I reside
in community B. The accompany of family and friends create a sense of belonging
along with feeling socially safe. The advice and encouragement of the people in the
community help in difficult times. I think it is advisable to maintain a number of
robust associations in the community (Jarpe-Ratner and Smithgall, 2017).
2. What types of projects might you initiate in Community A?
The employment generation sources can be created in the community A as there is a
greater level of intergenerational unemployment. The social enterprises should be
created in the community A to offer equal employment opportunities to the people.
Another project which can be initiated in Community A is increasing rates of literacy.
The rates of literacy can be increased by creating schools and institutions in the local
areas (Ang, et al. 2018). The schools and institutions will offer quality education to
the students. The project can also be initiated to improve drug and alcohol abuse in
the community. NIATx (Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment)
guides alcohol and drug treatment programs to execute process enhancement
strategies and make changes that can improve the quality of life. This framework
offers a framework for guiding dimensions of quality care. This project is even
helpful for enhancing the quality of addiction treatment services on the basis of six
dimensions like care must be operative, safe, patient-centered, timely, competent and
equitable.
3. Now imagine that both scenarios are in fact the same community through a different
lens/ perspective of the observer. What are some strengths-based principles you could
use to work with communities like the ones in this story?
The strength-based principles work as a collaborative process between the individuals
assisted by services and those assisting them. These principles in both communities
will enable individuals to work together to govern a result that draws on the
individual’s strength. The strengths-based principles to be used to work in the
communities are:
