INTRODUCTIONEffective communication is very essential while working in an organisation. It helps inexplaining and analysing the thoughts and ideas between the people of the organisation.Communication is a two way process, and for conducting it efficiently it is very important for theindividuals to use proper form of words and expressions. It is very crucial for the organisationalleaders and managers to develop effective communication skills inorder to maintain transparencyin the firm. For the sectors like health and care unit it is very essential to develop efficientcommunication process within the care unit. TASK 1Q1(1.2) Communication skills in health and social care context.In every organization effective communication is the keen requirement and specially inhealth and care unit centres. For accomplishing the goals and objectives of the organisation it isvery important for the members of the care unit to conduct communication activities effectively.There are various techniques introduced in this context. This helps in providing effective servicesto the members of the care unit (Andrews, 2015). Communication is the very important aspect of the organisation, there are four types ofcommunication: Visual Communication : Its is the communication method which is use at workplace to describesome special types of messages and aspects that are helpful in passing some importantinformation from one person to another. Written Communication: It is the most clear from of communication, as all the information andguidelines are in written format, so it is very easy to understand the meaning of the message. Verbal communication: It is the most common and prominent form of communication. Non-verbal communication: The significance of non verbal communication is very high incontext to the organisational success. It is very important for the workers of health and care unit to develop effectivecommunication skills because they are one who interact directly with service users. It is alsoimportant for them to understand needs of the people who are staying their. Running suchorganisations is a job of huge responsibility. It is very essential for all the members who areliving their to conduct their tasks and activities with full responsibility. It is very important tounderstand the fact that the communication is a two way process, and for conducting efficient

communication one has to be a good listener. Without listening properly on cannot communicateproperly. In health and social care unit impactful communication can be done by following thesefour approaches: Understanding the cycle of the communication: It is the important fact to understandthat communication is the two way process and it can not be done effectively when one is notready to listen what other one is saying. As a service provider in health and social care unit it ismy duty to listen all the requirements and series of the service user. It is important for me, sothat I can give my full potential in completing my tasks and duties (Aveyard, 2014).Understanding non-verbal messages: There are many things which one has tounderstand by reading the body language of the other person. It is special skill to understand thethings which are not communicate verbally. As a service provider f health and care unit, its myduty to understand the needs and desires of the members who are living their before theycommunicate it to me. Understanding cultural differences: Such differences act as a huge communicationbarrier within the organisation. It is very important responsibility of the workers of the health andcare unit to work and communicate beyond any kind of cultural and social differences. Effective questioning: The way one is putting their thoughts make huge difference. It isvery important to ask questions effectively without hammering thoughts of anybody. As aservice provider of care unit, I know sometimes there is a situation comes when I have to askcertain question to the members who are living their, but the way of questioning should be highlyprofessional and the feeling of one should not get hammered (Brett, 2014). Organising conversation: Interaction is very important for developing relationshipamong the members. While working in health and social care unit it is part of my job to developconnection and relation with the other workers and members of the care unit. So that all canwork together effectively and generate desires outcomes and able to fulfil all the requirementsand needs of the people who are living their. Organising conversation is a skill of one whichhelps in conducting activities effectively.Maintaining healthy conversation: It is very important for the workers and serviceproviders of the social and care unit to maintain healthy communication. It can be possible whenboth the persons involve in the conversation is ready to listen the thoughts and ideas of the otherone. This helps in maintaining healthy and effective communication.
