Communication serves as the key foundation of every facet of business. Effective
communication includes communication between two or more persons with the purpose of
receiving, delivering and understanding the shared information correctly. The present report is
based on Mr fishy restaurant which situated in borough market, London. Mr. fishy is an fish and
chip restaurant and the owner wants to reduce the tension between British and non British staff.
The report will discuss principles and purposes behind different forms of organisational
communication. The study will be on principles of effective communication to enhance practice.
Evaluation of the communication practices at workplace will be discussed.

Principles and purposes behind different forms of organisational communication.
As per the views of author(Bannier, Pauls and Walter, 2019) Business communication is
the channel for promotion of services, product, organisation, etc. with the intention to increase
the sales and revenue of the company. Effective communication helps the company to maintain
the company health, increases profit, keep employees engaged, etc. for happy disposition as the
main focus is to achieve the organisational objective successfully. There are two types of
business communication one is oral communication and other is written communication. Oral
communication is done with the help of mouth like individual conversing with the other person,
speeches, presentations, telephonic conversations, etc. the communication is recommended only
when there is direct or temporary kind of information is required. It helps to build key role in
trust and rapport. The purpose of oral communication is to provide the information as simple as
possible and able to convey the information who don't have paper, pen of smartphone at work
place. The principle of orals communication are plan for the presentation it states that sender
must be clear for the purpose and profile of the audience. Principle of completeness states that
the communicate must give valuable sense of complete meaning.
According to the author(Agarwal, 2019)written communication is an innovative activity
of the company. Written communication helps to prepare worthy promotional materials in the
developments of business. Written communication is more formal and unique than oral
communication. The purpose of written communication is to keep legacy of the information and
to preserve it for comparison of past performance in the organisation. It allows to present the

many barriers for the effective communication in origination. Some of the barriers are language
barrier which arises in organisation due to misconception and misinterpretation as it becomes
difficult when people do not understand the languages of other person which creates the difficult
situation. Another barrier is cultural barrier which states that people from different background
faces difficulty for understanding the perception other employees in the organisation which some
times may create conflicts among the employees. Age barrier is another challenge in the
organisation elder people have standards and visions, limited communication skills which may
become the communication gape between the elder and young staff.

overcome with the help of using strategies for language, age , culture barrier etc. to overcome

which helps the organisation to to consider people, objective and principles to creates the chain
of communication network. Principle of timeliness explains that when the communication is
done on time for the specific purpose it creates effectiveness in the business communication

receiver with the use of simple words which helps the receiver to understand to respond quickly.

daily interaction like meeting, speeches, etc. take lot of time of people. The business cannot rely
