INTRODUCTION
Residential care refers to the provision and welfare of the agency of home on the basis of
social work supervision of people in order to provide them housing accommodation such as care
or adults with learning difficulties (Stanley, Latimer and Atkinson, 2019). The present study is
based on Australian residential care that includes accommodation, personal care for 24 hours by subsidy
and the care home for eligible people. Care homes without nursing provide some of the facility to agent
people such as medication communication mobility and laundering its disease also including a dining
facility which is related to social programs and activities such as yoga, music art and outing for their
residents. The present study is based on care homes without nursing in Australia and it will
discuss development in community care policy and legislation with the help of history of
residential care provision. Then, identifying the challenges related to residential care. Lastly
report will provide suggestions to improve the challenges.
MAIN BODY
Residential care home
Residential care homes provide 24 hour personal care in order to support people who need help for their
daily tasks which are related to dressing, eating, washing but not related to nursing care. It can be on the
basis of long term as well as short term. The present study is based on Australian residential care that
includes accommodation, personal care for 24 hours by subsidy and the care home for eligible people
(Waling, Lyons and Edmonds, 2019). Care homes without nursing provide some of the facility to
agent people such as medication communication mobility and laundering its disease also including a
dining facility which is related to social programs and activities such as yoga, music art and outing for
their residents.
Development of residential care policy in Australia
In the year 1997 the Australian government implemented the package of reforms aged care act.
This framework sets the aged care system in order to meet diverse needs of older Australia and with the
help of an action plan for government and aged care providers and consumers it also provides resources to
help and meet goals of the member. According to this government funded for aged care by setting up all
the rules related to providing funding and quality of care to receiving care there are different laws which
are used by company in order to discrimination and diversify the asset care. Some of the legislature
lecture which is passed by Australian government disability discrimination act 1992 is related to law for
discriminate against someone on the basis of their disability which includes indirect and direct
discrimination (Marshall and Mackenzie, 2018). Treating a person by less favorable or similar
