INTRODUCTION
Community engagement can be defined as all the activities that are done to involve the
participation of people in welfare of community (Kumar and Kumar, 2020). The aim of
community engagement is to ensure that all the members of society get value and are able to
contribute to development of society (What is Community Engagement, 2021). Each and every
member of society must participate and use their full efforts for welfare of all. There are certain
issues that are faced by society and these communities make efforts to solve the problem. In this
report there is discussion related to Maya's Organisation Philippines. It is Newham based
community situated in East London. The aim of the community is to protect the children from
sexual abuse. Along with that they work to help rape victims. They become voice of the children
and ensure that no child cries in dark. There is discussion related to programmes used by Maya's
Organisation and its comparison with PH Charity which is also a charitable organisation that
support the education of children. There are different way in which these organisation work and
communicate with stakeholders, there is discussion related to same in the organisation. Also,
there is discussion related to best practices in which the charitable organisation is indulged.
MAIN BODY
Community engagement includes the efforts of the organisation that help in welfare of
society. The work to help the society and solve the issue they are facing. They undertake
different projects and work to achieve the aim of society. All the organisations have their
approaches that help them to achieve their goals and objectives.

First of all there is description related to the approaches that are used by Maya's
Organisation Philippines. These approaches help the community to achieve success. The
discussion related various approaches in done underneath:
Web-based engagement: It is seen that there is need to switch towards digitalisation. As
there are large number of people that spend their time online. It becomes important to note that
Maya's Organisation works thorough digital platforms so as to achieve goals and objectives. To
spread information about the society it is important to use digital ways (De Weger and et.al.,
2020). The provide online discussion platforms to children where they are able to communicate
effectively with the stakeholders. As the children are unable to open and speak in front of all.
The community prefers to give them option of interacting through online platforms. It helps to
serve large number of customer's and serve them.
Community meetings: It is important to held community meetings where the issue can
be discussed. In the meetings all the employees of the community discuss the problem that is
faced by the employees (O’Neill, 2020). So as to get in depth understanding of the problem that
is faced by the employees. Each and every person should be given opportunity to participate in
decision making. This helps to find effective solutions of all the problems and help the people
suffering from the issue. It is not easy to help a victim of rape. It is necessary to find effective
solution and communicate with them in an effective manner.
On the other hand, PH Charity uses different approaches and they are able discussed
below:
Surveys: This is one of the effective approach that is used by PH Charity. As they want
to help the children and motivate them to study. They conduct survey and try to identify the
number of children that need assistance (Mitchell and et.al., 2019). They also try to analyse the
child labour taking place and then help them. This approach helps to know about the issue faced
by the stakeholders and it becomes easy to fin solution of the situation.
Focus groups: This is the another approach that is being used by community. In this
approach the focus groups are formulated. These groups give ideas and then contact with the
children as well as their parents to solve the issue faced by them.

The major difference is Maya's Organisation Philippines uses online way of
communicating to the children. It is used by them because there are chances that the victim is
unable to share the experience and problem. At the same time PH Charity uses survey to know
the details about the people who want to study and to safe them against child labour. It is
important use the best approach as it helps to achieve success. It has became essential to use
digital media in order to reach more people and to help them.

Community engagement is the process that works for social welfare. This can be done by
helping the members by taking effective decisions for their benefit. There is need to engage all
the stakeholders as it helps to perform effectively (Questa and et.al., 2020). There is requirement
of effective communication to take wise decisions. The way of communication of the members
of society creates a major impact on the people that the serve. It is not easy to ask about the issue
and understand the same effectively. There is need of proper communication so as to effective
decisions. There is need of proper interaction with the stakeholder as that assists in taking right
decision. The understanding level of the society is based on the way its members communicate.
Stakeholders are essential part of the charitable organisation. Stakeholders means all the
people that are related to the charitable organisation. The owner, member, employees, society all
the people that are related with the organisation are its stakeholders. An organisation must use
different ways that will help them to engage the stakeholders. As it helps to build trust and
increase the level of understanding. When each and every stakeholder knows about the condition
of the organisation than it helps to manage risk (Thirlwall and Whitelaw, 2019). The active
participation of all the stakeholders helps to take effective decision that helps in success of the
organisation. As each and every person discloses about their point of view so that they are able to
gain success. It is necessary to engage all the stakeholders as their participation helps to manage
risk. In regard to Maya's Organisation Philippines al the stakeholders are active and participate in
all the meetings. All this helps them to know each and every thing about the community as well
help in its development by asking suitable actions .
Practice of inclusion must be followed by all the members of the organisation. As it
helps to know about all the essential requirements of an organisation. All the members must
work together and on same goal so as to achieve targets and will leads to success of the

organisation. They work on the purpose of community and that is to safeguard the children from
sexual harassment. Along with that Maya's Organisation Philippines uses social media that helps
to engage all the important stakeholders that they want to. Overall it can be analysed to achieve
the objective organisation must have effective combination to interact effectively and share all
the important tasks. At the same time when all the stakeholders participate there is better
understanding in the organisation and all the decisions are taken effectively.
Process used by Community to achieve the best practices.
There is a process that is used by the organisations in order to achieve goals and
objectives. The process is so important and must be followed so that there are better results that
the organisation is able to get. The steps in relation to Maya's Organisation are discussed below:
Start with research: The first and foremost step to analyse the issue by conducting
research (Mohr and Shelton, 2017). It is necessary to know about the number of people that are
facing the issue and then taking suitable action. Maya's Organisation conducts proper research
about the market and then take further actions. As it helps them to know about the need of
assistance and the actions that can be taken by them.
Community Mapping: In this step the society takes care about the priorities and set them.
By conducting research in the first step the organisation is able to set the priorities in an effective
way (Leland and et.al., 2019). There is need of effective planning so to may the work and then
take actions that will help them to achieve objectives. All the actions are taken for the benefit of
its members and success of community.
Social Media engagement: In the next step they work to engage all the people through
social media platforms. There are meetings that are conducted by the organisation and that
suggest ways of engaging the stakeholders. All this provides clarity and assists in achieving
goals and objectives. It is necessary to have communication on regular basis so as to take
suitable actions.
Monitor performance: The performance of society must be monitored. As it is important
to analyse the work that is done by all the members. It is necessary for Maya's Organisation to
carry on the procedures that assist in monitoring the performance of the society. In this step there
is a check on achievements of community (Cunningham, 2021). Like are they really able to help
children. The results are being evaluated so that suitable actions can be taken. It is always
important to know about the progress made by an organisation.

These are the steps that are being followed by Maya's Organisation. These are important
to be followed. As first of all conducting research will help to know about the real problem so as
to take suitable actions and do proper planning. The next work is to engage the people and using
so as to cover wide range. In the end, analysis help to monitor the performance and know about
the progress made by the society.

It can be concluded that community engagement is an important concept that helps to
solve the issues that are faced by society. There is need of support to the people that are facing
issues. These communities are build with the motive of helping others and solving the issues that
are being faced by them. They work to first analyse the issue that the public is facing and then
analysing the ways in which the issue can be solved. It is important to have such communities
that have their own goals and purpose. They work with full motivation in order to achieve the
goals and objectives. Nowadays the cases of sexual abuse are increasing and Maya's
Organisation is working to help the people that are victim of same. It is difficult to understand
the issue that they are facing and then finding solutions that help them. There are some
approaches that are used by these organisations in order to work effectively. The different
organisation uses different approaches and they are based on their nature. Now it is essential to
communicate effectively, engage stakeholders and follow the practice of inclusion. All this
differentiate the society from others and then they are able to take suitable actions. This is
necessary to follow all these points for success of community. There is discussion related to the
process that is being followed by the community to deal with the situation. For this proper
research is being conducted that helps to map the priorities justify the best practice. There is
important role of engagement of stakeholders and including them in participation. This process
in helpful for the community to achieve their goals and objectives.
