This presentation provides an overview of community policing, including its history, importance of community confidence, theories, styles, and impact. Community policing is a system that allocates police officers in a way that it becomes easier for the officers to mingle with the local public. It creates safe and secured zones for the locale which is very important. Theories of community confidence in policing include effect on crime, police community relations, and police community problem solving. Styles of holding community confidence in policing include watchman, legalistic, and service styles. The impact of having community confidence in policing is discussed as well.
